PGA Dyno Day - 26th of may

Hey guys

I know it's a long way off, but since people have either bought new cars, performed serious mods or haven't had a run, I'm thinking of organising another dyno day for the 26th of May - DATE CHANGE, which is ages away, so people can organise time off etc. It'll be a Graham West's again, and those of us who have had a run there can attest to their professionalism.

Graham West Workshops

668 Marion Road

Park Holme

Also, let's beat the figure of 17 cars running which we had last time. So I'm asking if you know some other car clubs (WRXSA, GTiROZ, T4S, SA Supras, InFMS, SA Rotors etc) invite them along, so we can get a good mix of cars and people attending.

So, are you guys keen?

(I'm looking at Paul, Colin, Jon, Nath, Tom, Sam and Steve for this event, I'm sure you boys will be keen, since you've done upgrades/got new cars!)

Cheers

Daniel

Hi guys,

Just an update, for those of you who might be travelling a distance to get to this event, and wish to guarantee your run, please contact "Graham West Workshop on 8277 5688" and add your name to the entrant list. Just mention the Pulsar Group Dyno day on the 26th of May, and make sure you ask for Lynette.

We are capped at 40 entrants, and this is the best way of making sure people who really want a run can get a chance. (At last check there are 25 positions left)

Also, we have secured our first sponsor, Jack Baker Tyre Power, so prizes will be available on the day.

Fast Fours staff will be attending to cover the event and do a PGA club feature. Ignition DVD have been invited but have not replied as yet.

Cheers

Costs and are they looking @ having all thouse clubs there as well or is SAU first port of call to see if we can make up the extra numbers

i know when we had our dyno day its not over in 1hr so to many clubs and would be crap

im interested if its just PGA and SAU

From Dan.

It's $40 for 2WD - $50 for AWD for that you get three runs, and a detailed prinout of your best run (powercurves, AFRs etc)

There'll be a barbie of sorts too.. just a hang out day with few other clubs... ne.com/ns.com/rexsa/etc.

^^ agreed and that 3 runs is back to back no point doing another run after your 2nd your just making it hotter

$50 AWD i was of the impression turbo tune had the only AWD dyno or is that to drop your front shaft

OMG over 40 cars are they running it from 6am to 6pm

There are a few places with AWD dyno's in adelaide now. The exhaust place next door to carlovers on port road were getting one in soon too.

edit: bad engrish :O

A bit of variety doesn't go astray.

Our last SAU dyno day was rather boring to say the least. The one prior; no restrictions just who ever wants to enter enter. It was great, a few VL's, MS75's beast etc.

------

I'm thinking about it, should be a nice little surprise providing the gearbox holds up. 1:1 should be fine lol :S

yeah true cubes but i guess we were hoping for a few big HP lines up there hostile was on the dyno only a few days earlier so didnt want to go again

i forget what happened to my mate chris i dont think he could be bothered pulling his front shaft

and some of the SLO boys would of been nice too but hey sall good

  • 4 weeks later...

Bump

im not very much considering on going to this any more new howie are you definately going anyone else considering this or have most of you forgotten about it

there are more sponsors now also with prizes for something

anyways ive invited a WRX'ey friend

So is anyone from here going?

I went to a dyno day there early last year with another club and got a miserable result (car was almost completely stock).

They use a dynolog dyno which many people say reads 10-20kw lower than dyno dynamics dynos (could be just rumour).

Would be interesting to see what my car gets on there now just to compare with my last dyno there (and also to compare with my last recent dyno on a dyno dynamics)

Not sure if i'll go yet tho.

    • My stuff is all with Shannon's, granted, I don't really have imports I'm driving on the road, however, I've had multiple cars at the same time with them. Presently we have the Landcruiser on laid up cover, Sarah's Kluger on full cover, and the house insured. About 18 months ago Sarah wrote her Subaru Liberty GTB off, insured with Shannon's, and the payout, and buy back of the wreck was super quick. In 2020 we had the VF Commodore totalled in a major hailstorm. Storm was on the Saturday, I called on the Sunday and lodged it, vehicle was towed on Tuesday night, assessment team called on Wednesday to say it was a total loss and get payout details, money was in the bank on Thursday morning. Have had a few other claims both at fault, and not at fault, over the years, and never had an issue with them.   Funnily enough, they're also the cheapest insurer I find for things like Sarah's Kluger.   I will say I'm less impressed dealing with them lately around "the experience", as a lot of their staff that you deal with aren't car enthusiasts. Shannon's has a much more main stream feel ever since they decided to become "big corporate", laid a heap of staff off, and then hired a bunch of non enthusiasts. At the same time they've been making a push to be less "call us and we'll personally have someone who cares help" to "hey, this computer can do stuff for you" and are trying to get more square pegs to fit round holes. (That's just the vibe I get from them). Again, have had no issues with claims with them, but get a bit of a "less personal" feel from them.
    • A thing I wasn’t happy with with enthusiast was during the initial phone call they told me they’d insure it for 130k but needed photos.   I then sent them photos and they told me $80k as there were other cars either similar modifications available for around that price, I told them to send me the links to said cars so that I can buy them. i then sent the modification list with prices of the parts (no labor) and the price then came to 115k, which is still shy of the 130 that was agreed in the initial phone call
    • Ask me a bit later this week before payday
    • I agree that delayed payment probably isn't the most suitable solution. It seems a solid complete transaction would be best. As I wouldn't be using this sale as a line of credit that would typically earn interest, we can probably arrange a much cleaner single transaction deal. I can do $92.52 today. Would you prefer EFT, or Cash on Pickup?  😛
    • Oh man what a deal.... Funny enough (well not really) I sold a car to some old dude (buying for his Daughter) on a Saturday, He asked if she could take the car now and pay me the money on Monday as the bank wasn't open. Needless to say I told them to come back with the cash or get f**ked! Luckily the money seemed to magically appear in his pocket a few minutes later, so it all ended well (for me).
