Im Disgusted!

Recommended Posts

Hey all just thought id share my little experience with you....

To cut a long story short, got a workshop (supposedly a good one) to install a 33 gtr pump in my 33 gtst

I wasnt happy with the amount of racket it was making so i got a walbro one to put in myself

when i opened it up i was amazed at how shit the work was and also unsafe!

Picture 1 and 2: Both positive and negative wires insulation were ripped

and

Picture 3: The rubber seal had also been damaged

f3.jpg

Picture 4: Cap was bashed off with a screwdriver or something that would damage it (cant u see its plastic so u shouldnt use metal!)

f4.jpg

and last but not least they did not mount it on any sort of rubber just cable tied it to the cradle THATS WHY IT WAS SO f**kING NOISY!

sorry no pic for that.

/end of rant

If anyone wants to know the name of the workshop, pm me and i will tell you

There is usually a marco mode on the point and shoot cameras that help you take close ups, looks like a little flower on my camera, try that next time :)

Hence why I installed my pump myself....just curious did they manage to fit it so you didn't run out of fuel at half-tank as well? That seems to be a favourite.

after seeing this i completely understand... you should confront them about it and say wtf is this shit.?

my fuel pump was installed in a similiar manner.. but in addition to the above problems, they also neglected to put the fuel pump in the bracket, or put the sock back on the bottom of the hose.... ALSO.. part of the hose towards the top had disintergrated in the fuel tank leaving floating little white bits throughout my fuel! :D

$20 says it was the same place! PM SENT!

may I suggest you use the macro-focus mode on your camera next time..does wonders for close-ups

but anyhow.. dodgy-brothers! as they say, if you can do better, may as well do it yourself!

Should have a petrol resistant foam rubber sleeve and hose clamp/s to mount it. I've not seen ANY shop including autosparkies that wire things up neat. Kindergarten kids could usually do better!!

They usually use the biggest soldering iron they can find, two rolls of dodgey insulation tape per job, have five twist joins in a 500mm length of wire, and crimp all connectors with a hammer or sidecutters.
