Should have a petrol resistant foam rubber sleeve and hose clamp/s to mount it. I've not seen ANY shop including autosparkies that wire things up neat. Kindergarten kids could usually do better!!

They usually use the biggest soldering iron they can find, two rolls of dodgey insulation tape per job, have five twist joins in a 500mm length of wire, and crimp all connectors with a hammer or sidecutters.

LOL f*kn hacks!

What they figure is... if you don't see it.. it wont hurt you...

WRONG MUDAf*kRS!!!

They should take a crash course in how to unf**kthemselves.

OK OK, XXX did it. I spose its not bad to say it because i am sharing information that could be useful, as someone said if they cant see it it wont hurt them (the customer) or something along those lines. thats why i was so eager to get back in the tank and see what they really done.

First and last time to go there, wasnt happy with the service from the start.... i made an appointment at 10am and didnt leave until about 2.45.... but i spose workshops can be like that

i payed $120 for the install only... the pump was supplied by myself.

mods if u think this thread is not within guidelines than feel free to edit.

on a good note i got my FMIC installed today, happy with that and the guy who installed it

**edited by mods - please don't mention names**

I have a similar problem last workshop I left my car to gave me the car with

1 dint in the front passenger panel..denied by them.

1 window seal badly notched "drivers side"

1 side skirt chipped"drivers side"

I need to install cams/afms and retune.

I am not giving it back to these guys.

There work was good but are rough as guts on your car.

PM ME IF YOU WANT TO KNOW WHO THEY ARE IN MELBOURNE.

Probably best course of action if it hasnt been too long would be to sit down and consult with them, and maybe work out some appropriate resolution. but then again its upto how you would proceed in this circumstance. There are many and many dodgey work places, and very few that actually know what the hell they are doing with our cars and even less that will take the time, effort and care with out cars on anything mechanical. Hence why so many people do things themselves. Well one of the many things why anyway.

Noo good even still atleast you got to it sooner than later

it has been over a month since i done it, for the matter of 120 dollars i cant be bothered going back especially since they cant see it while it was installed. they will most porbably make excuses etc etc and highly doubt i will get my money back and i dont think there is anything else they can do for me.. i will just not go back there again

how much diff is the GTR pump over the stock? i would think the GTR would be easier to install than a walbro (aftermarket), I would think the GTR would use the stock mounting brackets etc. pm me the reply with the name of the workshop too. please thanks :)

walbro comes in a kit form and is so easy to install, it has a new hose with clamps, rubber mount down the bottom and pickup filter thing. also has a wiring harness with it. The hardest part is cutting the + and - and crimping/soldering them to the new harness LOL.

GTR pump uses everything the same so u dont need new hoses etc but it is slightly different on the bottom and wont sit in the cradle with the GTST rubber mount so this is where it gets ugly. If u a suitable piece of rubber and half a brain u could make a similar mount but yeah it help to have everything there when ur tank is opened up and u have no car to get bits and pieces lol

    • The cam I am actually putting in (a few posts up) is actually smaller than my current one. At least duration/overlap wise. All the chop stuff I hear just sounds like an engine running badly, because it is. I then envision driving it around in 1st gear and being massively sad about it bucking to the beat of said chop. There is an idle video of someone with a similar cam floating around the internet, but mine is a custom cam (so is his) so it'll never be the same, plus the fact exhausts are entirely different. What I want to do is put some bullet mufflers/race mufflers in to replace a couple sections straight pipes that currently replace the two extra cats that I don't need. But this is even further down the line!
    • I can tell you now, when the bracket that the little hydraulic ram attaches to snaps, with a subframe, and V8 from an AMG C63 on it, it sounds like someone letting shotgun off right beside you. It leaves your ears ringing, and a huge thankfulness that you never ever put a body part under something heavy that's only supported by a hydraulic lift...
    • Still not a guarantee fix. I used a high quality butyl-mastiq (the black goo that's not really silicone nor polyurethane, same stuff they use from the factory that just spreads out like melty cheese), and I still get lots of water on both sides of the trunk when raining or washing the car. I also suspect the factory spoiler rubber gasket might not be sealing well, so I'm thinking of adding a thin layer of grey silicone around the bolt holes on both sides and see if that's where it also leaks from. The biggest issue is that these cars don't come with a drain hole on each side like other coupes and hatchbacks.
    • I hate it, but maybe he could paint it Monster jam style and call it...godzilla?
    • Would seem to me to be appropriate to go GTR style bar. There are options with and without N1 vent holes, with the GTR lower lip integral (because FG copy). https://justjap.com/search?q=r32 bumper
