Just got myself a few defect notice's on my car and was wondering about one of them. I was told that the engine (RB25DET) is not legal in my car (180sx) which I'm pretty sure it is??

The cop told me that I need to get the modification papers which go along with my mod plate to prove this. Also that the car needed to be under the original tare weight???

Can anyone help me out here?

in wa you do not need a engineers cert if you do not exceed a certain capacity increase , i think its 33% from memory but i will check with my friend with a mII ford capri with rb30et

it still has to go over the pits for roadworthy and have numbers changed but no engineers cert

your in vic nis , thats like the nth korea of australia .farting in your car is an epa offence there

The National Code of Practice for Light Vehicle Construction and Modification (NCOP) is being pushed Australia wide and WA is using it as a structure for all mods, IM240 comes out soon here as well for all modified cars that fall under the rulings.
