to get any noise in neutral, you need to rev the shit out of it, hard and fast! you need to make a larger mass of moving air on the intake side so that not only does your boost register, but it also squeezes through the factory bov...

but none the less, the problem your having is normal, i have a feeling that when you had the new turbo fitted, it actually fixed the problem you had with the car before without you even knowing you had a problem...

which was most likely a flow problem...

also, fix your clutch before it gets too bad...

yea i really doubt its the turbo since ive had it fitted alogn with assisting mods ive driven it about 4 time in nearly 2 months, reken upgrading the clutch should do the trick ? and ty for more helpfull comments im still young and dont know a whole lot so maybe i wrote the rong thing in the thread title..

i gota gt30 internaly gated fitted, say a week ago before wat happened i could rev it in neutral and it was fine even when normal driving i cant hit boost at all and struggles to get to like 3-4 thousand revs. im trying to think if its the clutch or maybe i have a bigger problem ..

Lack of RPM has nothing to do with the clutch.

Take it back to the workshop that fitted the turbo and get them to fix what they stuffed up.

:nyaanyaa: cheers

Actually, oops, I didn't write what I said above clearly. I agree with SK. if the clutch was slipping, the revs would rise like crazy bu the car won't move.

so if it's not allowing it to rev, it's something else

what size rear housing is it?

"even when normal driving i cant hit boost at all and struggles to get to like 3-4 thousand revs."

sounds like it might have too large an A/r

on the gt30

or there a restriction in the intake or exhaust or cat

how was the car driving before the gt30 was fitted

as i said before and will say it again this problem has only occured after driving it a week ago on my way to a igntion cruise here in perth i gave it a bit in 2nd hit about 5 thousand rpm then dropped rappidly after that is when i cant hit boost at all in any gear neutral driving nothing,

Check your wastegate maybe.. cos its internally gated could have popped the little thingomabob off the flapper from the actuator causing the flapper to be constantly open..?

just a suggestion :O

Dear god is it school holidays or something?

Like Sydney Kid said, take your car to the mechanic that did the work.

Something is wrong. If it was the clutch slipping, the engine would be revving whilst not accellerating.

If your car is unable to rev normally and is not making boost, something is seriously wrong. Take it to your mechanic.

Edited by Mitch_Rona
r33hvn that seems likea possibility

which one? the wastegate part or the vac line part?

either way maybe you should take it to the mechanic and ask him to tell you whats wrong b4 he starts working on it... that way you can see if its going to cost you mega$$ or not.. possibly not... if the wastegate rod has fallen off the flapper its cos they didn't put that freaking little circlip on it...

if its vac line its a $20 fix maybe even less... either of the 2 its easy fiX bud!

anything else is beyond me... :O

boost no work in neutral

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA AHAHHAHAHAHAAHAH

boostie no workie in nuetral buddy... Although I'm sure if this was asked on Nissansilva.com he'd get an answer more harsher than this now. So take it easy on him and lets not reduce ourselved to ns.com levels. lol.

Sammie I had the same problem. It turns out my turbo blew. It is either the wastegate staying OPEN or there is no external wheel left on the turbo lol. check for white smoke please.

EDIT: I had the same problem but my wastegate was shut the whole time. ~boost.

Yes your ceramic turbo lost its wheels... :O

Not his GT30 that he fitted 4 weeks ago... and he said before that theres no smoke... so i assume it can't be that severe.. well he hopes not anyways

ok guys ur gona think im stupid as most of u do already but i had a good look and i found one of my intercooler pipes has come off.. and that would explain what happened when i drove it that night as i was goin up in revs the nall off a sudden felt like a big release of pressure and turns out my piping has come off lol ...

    • The jack pad placement always had me scratching my head. I only have a small section to work with on both the E90 and E70 (and insert new project car here ) and I could see lining it up to be a bit of a bugger. For me, the E90 is just too low and needs small ramps and then the front centre jack point is a bit tricky to line up (it's half way down the subframe and about the size of a tennis ball, its really hard to see unless your head is on the ground), so I definitely like the idea of not having to do a multi-stage jack and just sliding these bad boys in under the sides. There's only one small point at each corner, so I can't jack AND add a stand on the same corner. Or, maybe I can and I'm too nervous to try. 😟
    • Is this not the biggest deal of all? I was hoping the whole "will slide under cars with skirts etc and lift evenly quickly with minimal fuss" was the entire point of such a device?

    • Yeah I've got one of these, Quick Jack not Quick Lift, but your link looks like a good copy For me, it's better than no hoist, but it is definitely not as good as a hoist  It lifts the car about 60cm which is a nice working height compared to regular stands and it is only under the sills so it doesn't get in the way like regular chassis stands do.  No need to use regular stands, it has a safety lock on it. On the down side it is really heavy/unwieldy to drag into place, and you have to place it after the car is there (no option to drive the car to where the frames are. You need to try and line it up with the proper sill points which is hard as it swings up in an arc and there is surprisingly little adjustment in the distance between the rubber pads for different car lengths. Not a big deal, but in practice a jack + stands is probably quicker. Also there are hydraulic lines to each side and you need either a 240v or 12v source to power it depending on which option you have, I use 12v as I always seem to have a battery around.
    • Finally addressing my catch can and oil setup Plan is to do as much as practical without having to remove the motor or pull it apart. (no back of head to sump drain/breather or oil restrictors) First step is a set of full length baffle plates from Hypertune and a Tomei cam cap stud kit. I could probably have laser cut and bent up my own ones but this took any guess work out
