What is the different between camber kit and caster kit?

I've been told that I need to replace the caster kit in the front and camber kit at the rear and the bush in the front.

It quote $880 inclue parts, labour and wheel alignment.

How's it sound?

Why only camber kit at the front and only caster kit at the rear? Are the kits include bushes?

Thanks!

Castor kit is basically new bushes for the castor rod, or you can get adjustable castor rods which are as their name suggest adjustable and use rose joints.

Camber kit is generically an offset bush that is used in the control arms to slightly change the geometry. Or you can get JIC/Nismo/Cusco etc adjustable control arms which allows more adjustment.

$880 does sound a tad high for the bush option. I just had my 2nd set of control arm bushes installed recently (Brand-Nolathane replaced my Whitleline ones which failed) and i think they cost me about $350 + installation (eight bushes in total).

I cant see the castor bushes costing $300 (two bushes in total). You may be able to get the lot a little cheaper say $100-200.

But im going on memeory here, so i could have very well paid that much.

If that price is actually for adjustable castor rods and adjustable control arms then that is a GREAT price, but im guessing the price is for replacement bush option.

Thanks,

I have some extra information:

The brand that I quote is SuperPro. My suspension is Tein NA (not coil over but can adjust the height for a bit). He said that the front is too low, he will raise the front a little bit for me as well.

And the parts cost me $460. (front caster kit, bushes for the front and rear camber kit) And he charges me 5 hours labour ($66 x5 = 330) + 4 wheel alignment($88).

Hi Ken,

The bushes we sell are SuperPro, which come from Whiteline. The

products that you have enquired about are available in the AutoSpeed Shop as follows:

Caster Kit Front: Radius rod bush-caster adj. - [KCA331]

Price:   $88.10

Camber Kit Rear: Control Arm Upper- Camber Adj - [KCA347]

Price:   $106.82

Front Bushes - each component comes as a kit as listed below:

Control Arm Upper - Outer Bush: SuperPro poly bush kit - [sPF1811K]

Price:   $156.28

Strut Bar To Chassis Mount: SuperPro poly bush kit - [sPF1202K]

Price:   $65.11

Strut Bar To Chassis Mount "Adjustable": SuperPro poly bush kit - [sPF1202AK]

Price:   $103.82

I have quote the parts price in autospeed.com.au. Basically, the parts price is similar with the price that I quote before. What makes $880 so expensive is the labour and alignment... The align+labour is around $420.
