Sol32
Hey guys, This really isnt that bad a problem but it's doing it more and more often these days... no matter if the car is warm or cold... Ill turn the key and she'll kick over and instead of starting shooting nicely up to 1000rpm, she trickles in... hard to explain, its like theres no bounce to it. Once it passes that, she idles and drives fine. The power FC is currently tuned to v-power racing, the 100octane ethanol stuff... Ive heard that this is more viscous than say BP ultimate and something (lines, injectors?) is getting clogged. Could this be the problem? Thanks in advance Andrew Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/158817-weak-start/ Share on other sites
Rekin
sounds like my r32, it sorta struggles to start up and sometimes needs a press on the accel to get revs up. Not sure if its same prob Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/158817-weak-start/#findComment-2948795 Share on other sites

Thanks heaps More of the picture------its going to be filter OR alarm related. Filter is easier to check for now. T04GTR
yeah. pretty common. id say with the age of them the auxilary air valve is stuck. or the idle motor is a little sticky to. RedDrifter
R32's tend to do this. My R32 has been doing it for years and this problem is no different on my new motor. Nothing worth worrying about. My brothers R32 does it as well. Buggered if i know why. Rekin
I read somwhere, that common cause of starting problems is due to the engine being cold. Metal expands when its cold and this causes the compression in pistons to have leaks hence the poor idling? Seeing as R32 is an old engine, it would be worn and be more prone to leaking etc etc. Not sure how valid this theory is haha. Wherever you read it has their facts and physics wrong Nothing expands when its cold, it shrinks Things expand when they're hot Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/158817-weak-start/#findComment-2950883 Share on other sites
