I dont mean to sound old but at 200kmph stuff comes up pretty bloody quick, and the car has alot more force then you think..

Actually, to be pedantic it has very little FORCE at 200 km/h, but it certainly has plenty of MOMENTUM.

However in a way I guess you are right, a sudden deceleration (like hitting a tree) at that speed will convert to plenty of FORCE :-)

hypothetical question :P

nah say i was dragging in an organized event and wanted to go faster than 180km/h lol

:P

Well... in a stock car you wont reach 180km/h by the end of a 1/4 mile :(

So hypotheticals arent required ;)

Ps. Moved to Skyline Spec section. More related to there as there have been past topics on this i believe

The mods there will have a better idea

A stock R32 GTR will not hit 280km/h.....

Watch the video on the net of the R32 GTR at the nurburgring, the driver has it booted for quite some time down the huge straight and it hits a brick wall around 235-240kmh :)

If you are referring to the BMI R32GTR special where the 32 gets hammered around the nurburgring then that car goes way off the scale on a 260kph speedo on that long straight

Yes thats the Video.

It is a 260kmh Speedo.....however the needle never gets anywhere near 260

The driver runs it out to 230kmh in 4th it then stops at what looks like 238 - 239kmh in 5th for ages, with a small burst to 242kmh or so as it goes down a slight dip.

240kmh is the realistic top speed of a standard R32 GTR

hanyou: BTW your 400m time of 12.427 @ 111.95mph @ WSID - R32 GTR, is almost identical to mine 12.432 @ 111.94mph @ Motorplex - R32 GTR

i trapped at 170 at drag strip for a 12.7 run

not a lot of places legally you can take a GTR above 200

but i believe a motoring mag did a high speed run on a track and it topped out at like 263(r32 gtr) just run out of revs

r33 gtr runs same ratios doesnt it?? so not any quicker

and r34 6th gear is only JUST taller than earlier 5 speed so my guess an extra 20-30k's at rev limit

r32 hits just over 240 around nurburgring in this clip

Thats the video :(

The GTR sits bang on 240kmh for a good 20seconds or so....how can that not be its top speed...!..?

280HP is not really alot to be pushing big top speeds

    • Price seems pretty good to me. Also seems a hell of a lot cheaper then buying another vehicle that only ever gets used for towing.  I'm a long way from you mate, I'm a couple of hours out of Brizzy.

    • The sodium acetate, mixed with citric acid, doesn't actually buffer each other. Interestingly though, if you used Sodium Acetate, and acetic acid, THAT becomes a buffer solution. Additionally, a weak acid that can attack a metal, is still a weak acid that can attack a metal. If you don't neutralise it, and wash it off, it's going to be able to keep attacking. It works the same way when battery acid dries, get that stuff somewhere, and then it gets wet, and off it goes again breaking things down. There's a reason why people prefer a weak acid, and it's because they want TIME to be able to be on their side. IE, DIY guys are happy to leave some mild steel in vinegar for 24 hours to get mill scale off. However, if you want to do it chemically in industry, you grab the muriatic acid. If you want to do it quicker at home, go for the acetic acid if you don't want muriatic around. At the end of the day, look at the above thumbnail, as it proves what I said in the earlier post, you can clean that fuel tank up all you want with the solution, but the rust that has now been removed was once the metal of the fuel tank. So how thin in spots is your fuel tank getting? If the magazine on the left, is the actual same magazine as on the right, you'll notice it even introduces more holes... Well, rust removal in general actually does that. The fuel tank isn't very thick. So, I'll state again, look to replace the tank, replace the fuel hanger, and pump, work out how the rust and shit is making it past the fuel filter, and getting into the injectors. That is the real problem. If the fuel filter were doing its job, the injectors wouldn't be blocked.
    • Despite having minimal clothing because of the hot weather right now, I did have rubber gloves and safety glasses on just in-case for most of the time. Yes, I was scrubbing with my gloves on before, but brushing with a brush removes the remaining rust. To neutralize, I was thinking distilled water and baking soda, or do you think that would be overkill?
