I know a number of guys from Vic use the Bridgestone RE55's as a motorsport tyre and rightfully so. But since late last year there haven't been any 265/35/18's available for the GT-R guys (might be other sizes out as well - I'm not sure).

So I just read about these and thought I'd post it up in here.

It seems Dunlop have come out with a new tyre for 2007 - the DZ03G's (not to be confused with the old DZ02G's).

I can't say I have used them but the first official outing was at the recent Lake Mountain Sprint and were used to win the event by Allan Simonsen in his EVO 9.

They are availabe from Stuckey's - not sure about Donellans however. So consequently you can expect them to costs a $ or 2 more than the RE55's but could be an option for some people. I have also heard they have great grip even when worn unlike the Bridgestones which are definitely best when green.

If they are similarly priced as the outgoing model, then these are big biccies, around the $550 mark per tyre. Unfortunately that's an extra $400 for the set over the RE55S's. Not sure if its worth the difference, but hey, there aren't many other options since there's no more 265/35/18 RE55S left in the country. Not sure when next shipment will arrive...

Doh, My set are nearly shagged after today. I used the 02G's on my STi and they were brilliant, but expensive, however lasted very well.

It's crap that stuckeys are a monopoly.

Looks like they are the only option unfortunately. :)

Cheers

Too much traffic with shitty old cars. Could only manage a 24. Was a hoot carving up 4-5 cars a session though.

A well run day, but hard to get a clean lap.

Good to blow the cobwebs out, the transfer case tickle worked a treat. I am such a wimp over the back, I need bigger cohones.

Bring on PI (with bald tyres.....)

So who/what was the fastest??

So who/what was the fastest??

I didn't see the last time sheets as they took ages to come up (I used my DL1 for times). There were a couple of guys in the 23's I think (Nispro S14 and a Nispro GTiR). There was also a turbo charged 968 there that was quick but didn't see the times he was putting down.

I should get the results by email in a couple of days.

A good day for "racing against people" but a bad day for times.

Cheers
