Hey guys,

Just wondering if anyone knows why my alarm siren makes this constant annoying whine, which changes as the revs increase etc.

It doesn't do it all the time, but more often than not. :S

Any ideas?

Note: Alarm is a Steel-Mate E838 (from Jaycar). The alarm was installed at AutoBarn.

Thanks in advance.

bad earthing or something.

actually its better than that. you have a dying alternator.. those sirens rely on a clean DC supply to work properly. when the alternator fails it usually drops a diode and puts AC on the line. thats what you hear.
