Oil Near The Ecu

Hey all.

Installing my Power FC today i noticed oil running down the conduit and dripping onto my carpet. Appears to be engine oil. has anybody seen this before?

thats a first an oil cooled ECU.......

i think it would just be some spillage that has run down the conduit could have come from anywhere. I dont think that there is any oil flow in that area of your car give it a wipe and see if it stops or better still spray some contact cleaner or wd 40 up the conduit to flush it out a little.

if so it looks like old coke

your heater core isnt far from where the ecu sits.. if its leaking it will find its way down to there. the crap that comes out of it is brown too.

nah it smells like oil. mobil 1 to be precise.

Perhaps an oil leekage from the turbo oil line, and its just spraying onto the wiring loom and running into the car?

yeah thats the theory im going by. or its leaked from the oil pressure sender through the wiring loom

Isnt the oil sender electric from the engine bay ino the cabin or do you have an aftermarket unit.

its possible it can leak from the switch along the wiring into the harness through the conduit to the lowest point

I upgraded to a PFC and noticed oil down the line of the harness and in the plug. they only way i could explain it was when the previous owner dusteed a piston it would have sprayed oil in teh engine bay and some ran down the wiring harnes, Well i hope thats the casue.

Id hate to find out there was a leak some where :S
