If u have an undersized box, u wont damage the sub, u will just be very dissapointed in its performance.

the only way to make alot of noise with a sub is by pushing air, box too small, not enough air...u do the math

if u have the issue of not enough space then u can invert the sub (magnet facing outward) to increase the inner capacity of the box therefore making the inner volume larger because the sub and magnet arent taking up space inside.
