Check this out. My mate is doing electric conversions and he just sent me this clip.

They're using WARP electric motors. I dont know a whole lot about it, but he reckons they had this one up to 90kph. Will go faster with more batteries/larger motor.

If anyone is interested, let me know, and i'll put you in touch with him.

that's mad. I wonder how quick it feels compared to the stock turbo, how fast it accelerates, how many ks he gets etc

he tells me its pretty quick off the mark.

theres larger variants of these motors that theoretically put out 2000hp

At current technology levels, I can't imagine a 2000hp electric engine plus all the batteries required to run it would be of a practical size and weight for a road car... But someone should do it anyway!

why only a 6V system? i was reading about a 12 second 180SX that was electric too... i've read it a few times since, i love this sorta stuff

oh and btw, still FWD?

It's not the power that makes it feel fast it's the fact that you have 100 percent of the torque availible right from the get go.

This man knows.

There was a doco on telly not to long ago about guys in america running Setups good for 400 miles and 12 second quarters. I remember the VSD and a picture of a spitfire on it, if that helps anyone

Was quiet an outlay but hey, power is cheaper then fuel!

yeah its FWD

it's not a 6volt system, it's 144volt dc

there are 24 batteries that make up 144volt
