WazR32GTSt
i think there is a glue called "plastic weld" specifically designed for high-temp plastics like radiators i used it ony my girlfriend's radiator top tank once (old ford laser) where she had a hairline crack... and it held for about 3 weeks before she could get it to a workshop to get fixed. and even then it still looked like it wasn't going to leak for ages! try supercheap, but expect to pay around $20 or so Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/159139-plastics-glue/#findComment-2961266 Share on other sites
vidospace
I believe plastic modelling glue works too as it actually melts the plastic slightly and as it drys it bonds the surfaces together (yes I used to make model tanks as a nerd... sorry child) Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/159139-plastics-glue/#findComment-2963298 Share on other sites
Gazee
i think there is a glue called "plastic weld" specifically designed for high-temp plastics like radiators What about actual plastic welding? This works PERFECTLY if you do it properly... Get yourself a soldering iron... and being the plastic welding process Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/159139-plastics-glue/#findComment-2963304 Share on other sites
WazR32GTSt
true, but you want to make sure you don't alter the structural integrity of the item in the case of an airbox it probably doesn't matter, butif it were something more important, say a radiator, you don't want to make it thinner in one area because you melted it, even if it makes a nice tight seal. of couse actually getting it properly done by a plastic welder is different, but DIY with a soldering iron doesn't sound like a sane idea from my end Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/159139-plastics-glue/#findComment-2963324 Share on other sites
