HICAS is the 4 wheel steering system. the system does a quick check when you turn the car on then the light turns off when everything checks out OK

You should only worry about it when the light STAYS on. then there is something wrong.

I believe HICAS turns on at over 40ks an hour - it might be 60 i cant remember so it does not work when parking its only there to make the ride feel better and you get that nice skyline feel when cruising around corners.

Hey mate,

also designed to help the car avoid oversteer..... Can actually get in the way when on the track cause its turning the rear wheels (Only up to about 2degrees i think from memory) trying to keep the car straight while the driver is also making corections, hence drifters usually locking or removing the hicas system to help with balance.....

I have NFI. :(

I don't really feel mine unless its through long sweeping bends at 100km/h.

Driving behind the car I could see what looked like a little 4ws at around 70km/h but that could have been the stuffed subframe bushes that have now been replaced.

it does feel very stable at high speeds for a fairly small car with a small wheelbase (in comparison to commies etc) but i dont know if thats to do with HICAS. i refuse to get rid of it untill im getting sideways at over 80ks which will require some track work. then i may lock it up, but for now i do a bit of country driving.
