Hey guys well I picked up my R32 GTS-T R32 Skyline (Coupe) today and lets just say it has been hell. On the way home I found out that the Fuel Guage doesn't work as it told me I had 1/4 tank of fuel but low and behold I had none and was stuck on the side of road but luckily there was servo just down the street abit.

Basically I am looking for some good mechanics in the logan area (even down on moss street in slacks creek) so I can get this fuel guage problem fixed. Also a good place to get a clutch changed as the car has a 3 button clutch in it and lets just say thats a little out of me league for my first skyline so I am looking at getting it replaced with just a heavy duty clutch.

Ok reason for the wreckers is I need a couple of little bits and pieces such as Reverse light lenses, front passanger side door trim (the one on it is a little screwed). Also just a few other interior bits and pieces.

Also does anybody know how much Window Rubbers would be for it as they could do with replacing as well.

I was told the aircon needed fixing before I got the car but after purchase of the car was informed there is no Air Con stuff at all under the bonnet and they gave me the card for Option 1 Garage and said they should be able to do replace the air con for me.

If I didn't get this car for a decent price I would be pretty annoyed but thats alright I will get it feeling the way I want soon.

So if anybody can help me out please let me know.

Also if anybody is selling any of these parts let me know so I can help support other Skyline drivers. All parts are for a R32 GTS-T Coupe

Front Passanger Side Door Trim (Good condition)

Center Vents for dash (good condition)

Door Window Seals (good condition)

Glove Box (if I can manage to fix mine, It wont stay up after I opened it).

Also if anybody is interested in the 3 button clutch that is getting removed send me a PM as I am getting it changed.

Hit the Classifieds bud :unsure:Here

Put in a WTB (Want to buy) post.

She sounds like a very tired old R32 that needs some love'n. Will keep an eye out for some spares down here for ya.

As for the Aircon that sounds like an expensive task :)

Alright posted the parts I need in the classifieds.

Any idea on a good workshop in the Logan area to get work done to the car?

Whats the deal tripper. Show us pics of the car you bought. I sorta thought you were out to buy one in mint condition. I hope you got this baby at the right price. Oh well, giving them the love they need to get them back to tip top is half the fun I guess. Happy lining bud.

Hahaha yeah some of these things I didn't find out till after the sale. I managed to knocked a decent amount off the list price so its not to bad. Most of the problems are interior related. Here is a picture of it. I know alot you hate VS kits but I love them. The car is going to get alot of love and I love my license too much to do anything stupid on the street. I am trying to get the minor stuff all fixed up then after I have paid my personal loan back it will be modding time. Also I noticed the Radiator has a Silver Calsonic sticker on it.... Is this normal?

so it read 1/4 but ran out of fuel.. u dnt have a bosch pump in ther do u. i bet u prob do.. little modification..

I will check out the pump to find out. Seeing as though I got it from a dealer I have no idea on what mods have been done which I hate.

guy,

for the Aircon, theres a place on Moss st Slacks Creek. near the top of the street on the left hand side. Logan auto electrics or something, I got my aircon on my mazda done there, they did the work very cheap and aircon doesnt miss a beat. Recommend ++ sorry cannot remember name of the place, You cant miss it, just past the fuel station on the left.

Cheers,

haha thanks for clearing that up. As soon as I saw the calsonic sticker I was happy even if it was a standard thing because I have a model of the Calsonic Race Skyline that I am yet to put together ;)

The Auto electrics place you are talking about is Woodridge Auto Electrics and is about 50 metres on the left hand side(after Red Devil). One of the guys who works there is Tim. He also does mobile work as well if that suits you Call 0401956102 and ask for Tim. He did a fair amount of work on my car and he is the cheapest auto elecky i have ever met.

For workshop I use DJ Sivyer mechanical in Timms Court, Woodridge which is to the left of JHH. They have a subaru sign out the front as they used to do subaru log book servicing. Ask for Daniel 32902967. He put my engine in and did my gearbox conversion. Fitted my new manifold(Which needed modification due to Rb25/30), new turbo, lines and everything. He usually has some hot imports in the driveway. He used to be John Hills(JHH Engineering) apprentice before going into business for himself.

I have no complaints and he charges an excellent rate for services.

BOTH I USE AND TRUST AND ARE NOT MATES, they are just people I had do work to my car when I needed it. Tell them that Bill with the White Vl Turbo recommended them.

If you need an exhaust or intercooler piping I have another guy I know who did excellent work on my car that I can recommend.

Call em or dont call them its your choice.

Thanks for that, I will check out the air con place and also DJ. The main reason I am looking for somebody people recommand is so that way I don't have to go through a bunch of crap until I find a decent place. I prefer to stick with one good workshop so they can get to know the car. Might give them a ring about my 100k service (if they do it) and get a decent tune done as well just to be on the safe side of things.

Thanks for the help and will let you know how things go.

Cheers

Adam.

- Calsonic sticker is normal (thats who they are made by)

- Keep the clutch and learn to use it....it's not hard once you've been driving the car for a while...(is this your first car)?

- Aircon is a weight addition and not needed in a performance car :) But if you feel you need it, someone will have on in parts section..or at a wreckers like alljap.

- There are a million workshops around, if you do a search you'll find a lot. But in many cases you should be willing to travel, you're better off travelling to a good workshop than going down the road to a dodgy one.

Good luck with your new car.

Matt

Dude, no offense but seeing as you bought this from a dealer, I wouldn't wanna be finding out about all these unexpected repairs after the sale regardless of how much u knocked off the price in the first place?? Sounds like the car hasnt even had a proper road worthy done??

Anyways, GL with it!

    • How's everyone going? Just a shout-out introducing myself. I'm James, I live on the north side of Brisbane. I bought an R33 that had been left to rot in someone's front yard for 14 years. Apparently, it has immobiliser/fuel issues. Long story short, it's suffering from a seized engine, plus whatever else turns up once it runs. The car is pretty good considering it sat for so long. It pretty much died after being imported. It has a bunch of Jap parts and a full Top Secret body kit. It's painted Fiat Turchese Festival, or aqua blue if you're not French. Another project to throw money at!
    • So the clockspring is responsible for the indicators cancelling on their own? I thought that was the function of that white thing in the center (any idea what it's called?)
    • Can you log IAT? Whilst WTA coolers have their place, doing any sort of sustained run is not one of them There are fixes that slow down the heat soak, like ice boxes, which don't last that long, and interchillers, which are fairly expensive, up grades to the WTA cooling radiator, which may require a bigger pump, and upgrades to the reservoir size,  and upgrades to the cooling fans, but, it all still heat soaks, and takes ages to come down in hot weather  For a turbo, that isn't locked into WTA like my PD blower is, can you not possibly swap to a nice air to air intercooler????, it would be better for sustained runs then, and have alot less things that could go wrong in my opinion
    • So, the other thing I've sorted is a baseline dyno run up at Unigroup's new location. The auto trans was a little unco-operative by both shifting down when the throttle was floored on the dyno (so Mark had to ramp it up more slowly than in a manual) and also by shifting up at 6,000 even in sports mode instead of the indicated redline of 7,000 Still, on a hot day it made 240rwkw at 16psi which seems about right for 300kw (400hp) through an auto at the wheels.  The shape of the curve is not quite right because it was not full throttle to about 4,500 to stop it kicking down, but until I can get a tune on the auto trans control this was the best we could do.....full boost will be well below 5,000 once that is sorted, I'll get some data logs when I can to confirm For comparison, the R32 made 255 at 12psi (at 4,500) on the same dyno with tune, n1 turbos, cam gears, big exhaust but otherwise all standard so the v37 is likely a little better out of the box. One thing that is very clear is that the standard water to air intercoolers are not up to sustained use at full throttle in warm ambient temps. After about 5 runs (so only a few minutes full throttle), it was pulling boost and timing and dropping 10-15% power. Unfortunately I didn't get that printout and the Unigroup guys are away at the moment, will try and get hold of it on their return. So, looks like a healthy engine to start modifying and the only real area of concern is the w2a heat exchangers which the aftermarket has plenty of solutions for
    • I maintain it actually looked really nice in person. So much so that I thought "No, this is illegal" but there it was, clear as day. I think we can easily call the wing and wheels/height to be transformative. Not saying it's better than the GR Whatever, or the 86, or the WRX STI or anything of that sort (the internet says it all bolts up so you can buy best of all worlds?) but it's still at least a thing and not nearly AS bad as people say.
