Not just with nissian, But holden, and other car manufacturers that have used GTS to Name the product of its Type and By nature which is a --//

Grand Touring Saloon.

With a skyline its the same but with say R33 you add 25T which is RB2500 + T = Turbo. etc which has been covered by previous posts but thought id re drum it for the slower few.

how does RB mean inline 6? is it japanese or something?

it's like this. car companies use codes for parts and engines, and chassis. the RB part refers to it being an inline 6 of a certain era. hence RB26, RB20, RB25, RB30 all in-line 6s of the same basic design and layout.

i can promise you it doesn't stand for race bred. everything else is true.

I thought RB was just in reference to the fact that it's cast iron? Maybe not.
