when i bought my 31 sillhouette we asked the dude if the LSD worked, he promptly ripped a nice burnout and that was enough for me.

that reminds me, mark, I still have one lone sillo alloy sitting around if ya want it?

I second a 89-92 corolla, was my first car absolute gem for reliability, cheap its comfortable and nobody will even know your there :P

Get a later model one with 5sp twin cam 1.8 if you need a bit of go

hey guys. thanks for all the replys!

gone for half the day and get 2 pages of hits. Woot :P

Yeah im only looking at 1500 bucks tops, and i'd rather get a smaller car rather than a bigger car (falcon or another skyline).

Basically a car where you could piss in the tank and it would run, and not have to spend much on.

Was and am still keen on the 'Rolla as well as a Barina/Excel/Charade or whatever just want to hear peoples experiences and if there was a car to stay away from so i dont end up getting stuck with something thats costing more money to fix/run than what its worth...

Ive got a 84 Corona paid 100 bucks for it of a relative its done 360,000 kms and still going strong plus so cheap on fuel and to maintain, Best $100 ever spent. It goes everywhere.

Now thats what im talking about! Hopefully i can pick something up like that!

I would not buy a hyundai personally, under any circumstanced even if it was the bargain of the century... Some of their new cars however are really comming up in quality/style.. i was quite impressed with the new sante fe at the motor show, but for your purposes, $1500 I wouldnt touch em

I have a 1994 AE92R Corolla Seca since my Skyline got killed. Bought it

for 4 grand, came with CD player and splits. Since then I've spent $600 on new king springs and monroe shocks (I gettems cheep) and thats it!!

$40 a week on fuel for 450-500ks of thrashing, more kays on the highway. Handles good now too!

On a side note, I have SO much more money now I dont have a Skyline :P

my dad bought a camira for $300, was auto ("ohh luxury" i hear you say....) didnt leak oil, never had a problem with it. that was his second one, first one was exactly the same, vener had problems, were both surprisingly reliable, didnt even leak oil :ninja:

what you mean.. you have r33 skyline??? are they expnesive to run are they?

For me yes. As i dont have a job i can't afford to drive it around. And as i dont have a job i can't afford to get it insured, therefore I'd be f**ked if i have an accident. Hence the need for a cheap shitty little car. If i crash, well at least i wont lose $15k + and it'll be alot cheaper to run a smaller car.

Looking at a Ford Laser or a Toyota AE82 today. yee ha!

I have a 1979 Ford laser KA hatch back. Bought it for $400.

Officialy the best money i ever spent!!! I have had it for 3 years, IT HAS BEEN SERVICED 3 TIMES IN THREE YEARS! and by myself mind you, but the thing loves it and keeps on going! i have only had to change the alternator, went to a wreckers and got one cheap from there. its poo yellow, its old, its got rust on it but i would be screwed without it, stuffed if im going to leave my skyline out the front of a mates house when drinking for the night!!!

GO THE LASER!!
