tuner rekons to make a maximum of220-230 rwk i need to raise boost to at least 15-16 psi on a the hiflowed slide turbo but is it safe at that boost level with stock internals? here are my mods incase no one knows

-hiflow slide turbo

-pod

-pfc

-fmic

-3 in turbo back exhaust

- ebc

-555 cc injectors (in the way)

-tomei fuel pump in tank ( on the way)

So basically if it took 10 psi to make 200rwk stock turbo and 10psi on a gt30r made for arguments sake 230rwkw. The eninge is under more load with the gt30r?

AM i correct saying psi is not a direct relation of stresses on teh motor.

More correctly put it would be that there are other stresses, RPM being the most dangerous.

:P cheers :O

provideing you can control the thing from pinging have done a few 25s but timeing isues always pop up but you should be ok with these mods you have .

Not so much of a problem these days with high octane fuel and ethanol eg; Shell V Power Racing 100 ron with 5% ethanol.

:P cheers :O

im fairly sure slide turbos are rated to 19psi safely... as far as what the stock internals will take.... i read that anything less than 270-280 rwkw is fine on stock internals.. so in answer, you should be able to easily run 18 psi quite safely.... with supporting mods you should be able to hit 250...

p.s. u will definately need that fuel pump and the bigger injectors to start getting much past 220-230... once you get those put in, go and get it retuned @ 18 PSI (or 20 if your prepared to accept the risks).

also remember that just because 9/10 people can run 18 or 20 psi every day with no probs, im sure there are stories of people running 16 psi on a highflow / bigger turbo that had their stock internals give up... its the risk u take i guess.

I run a Garrett GT3037 56t, .63 rear.

This thing pumps out some serious power, but is also a tiny bit laggy stopping the motor coping a hard hit everytime the power comes on.

I also cheat.........Water methanol Injection..

That cools the combustion temperatures by heaps, and prevents a lot of detonation. At one stage I did a few runs at 24psi and it just kept on pulling. Absolutely no detonation, and the AFR's were spot on.

unless we can see the compressor flow maps for it saying its safe for xyz psi means nothing

its just the turbine speed that is driven by the manifold pressure. the more pressure the later the wastegate is opened, which means faster compressor speed. it doesnt mean its flowing more useful air, just means there is more pressure.

well my tuner told me to run 16 psi so if he blows my car up he's payin for it lolz

you can run whatever boost you want as long as the tune is spot on...

should tune it on 16psi and run like 15 or 14 to be safe if your paranoid...
