Cat Temperature Sender

Now i have been getting some shoking ecconomy 100km for 1/2 tank.

So i have been reading this post

page 9 i think, where it states that the ecu takes the cat temperature into account, so it it is really hot, it leans it out.

I have a full dump and a gutted cat, and i have seen the manifold glow red before, I was wondering if the sensor could couse crap fuel ecconomy?

If i disconnect that temperature plobe, what will happen, and how do i go about dissconnecting it.

If you look over this diagram, you will see that it's all connected somehow. BUT i have no idea how it works.

I don't want to just cut it, so where is the plug for it to see if it makes a differance.

mines currently measuring the temperature under my passenger seat.

id it ever gets real hot under there.. ill know about it.

the plug is under the carpet. don't disconenct it. A light will come on.

Just bring it back up through thte floor and tuck it under the carpet.

So has anyone ever worked out how this Probe works? Ie affects on fuel ecconomy and so forht.?

it does not, its just a warning light

02 sensor will affect economy, change it if you havent in the last 50,000ks

I have changed the 02 sensor not long ago. BUT looking at the diagram, you can see that the cat temperature probe does give inputs and outputs to ECU pins. I know the one on the R32 only doe s alight, but the R33 has 3 sensors in line wiht the probe. So i think it might do a little more then just a light.
