Thanks

Ashley

Don't have anything for sale, but happy reading here:

Here's also a starter on the differences between RB20 and 25:

It is worthwhile getting your hands on one just to check it over, and the two things I've learned is

1. biggest is not always best

2. more (impeller blades) can be better

If you have a technical bent, then it is a fascinating area of study in engineering. People talk about this trim, or that A/R, or that major diameter, sometimes without realising that it is a difference of less than 6mm and yet it can make a difference of 100hp and seconds of lag.

cheers

when you pull them apart, there's literally nothing to see at all.

you've just got the wheels, oil section, water section. Very primative sort of thing.

you'd be better off researching about turbo technology e.g. different wheels, shafts, bearings etc on google.

hi guys

thanks for the reply

that garret site has heaps of great info.

I am a bit of a handy man when it comes to my car and like to pull things apart to get a good understanding of how they work and how hard things are to rebuild etc.

Hehehe sounds like me, just like ripping shit apart to see whats inside for yourself :D Sometimes I can read something a million times and it still wont stick or make sense til I just bust one open and take a looksie.

I did the same thing about a year ago, bought a shitty rb20 turbo with blown seals, got seal kit from nissan for Im pretty sure it was 170 bucks, and put a seal kit through it. Had a look at how everything worked on the inside. Was really good, I knew how they worked prior and understood the theory but nothin like gettin your hands dirty n rippin stuff apart to really get a good grasp of how everything is put together :)
