Just a few quick ones some people may be able to help me with.. Does anyone know what the offest is on a standard R33 wheel?

The wheels I am looking at buying are 19x8, they come in 2 offsets: a 35P and a 45P, which would be the best for a GTS-T?

Due to the nature of the spokes on these wheels, I have been told that I will need to run spacers at the front (about 5mm thick I think) Do im thinking that I may be able to avoid this with my offest choice, but at the same time I dont want wheels sticking out, ripping and rubbing the guards. << this is my maine dilemma!

I was also planning to put 265's or 255's at the back and 225s at the front. Any help appreciated

check out the link its got the offsets for cars.

The r33:

16X7.0 +33 205/55 R16 (standard wheels front)

16X8.0 +38 225/50 R16 (standard wheels rear)

18X8.0 +33 225/40 R18

the offset for 18 still hasnt changed in the 33, i would assume go for the +35 offset. that should still clear the calipers if i am not mistaken. (standard calipers, not brembos)

wherever you get your wheels from just ask what they have in stock with a +35 offset and get them to trial fit those. doesnt have to be in a 19, but just to see if the offset will allow enough clearances to the calipers.

hope this helps

I must say, it doesnt matter the offset if the spokes are not designed to clear the calipers. I had the same problem with Lenso GT-05 in 18x8 with a +35 offset, the spokes would not clear the calipers, so had them (calipers) ground down :ninja:.

Apparently some japanese rims actually come with ratings to fit different caliper versions . The easiest way is to test fit rims or find someone with the same rims.

Post up what brand and model of rim you are looking at and maybe someone can help you a bit better.

I have 235/40/R18s on all 4 corners and they fit fine no scrubbing at all, and fills out the guards nicely, but that is with standard suspension.

cheers

correct, it is called the x-factor

I didnt know r33 standard rims came in 16*7 and 16*8s..

Thought it was 16*6 all round with offset of 40 or so..

but 35 offset or 40 will deff fit.. You might have to run 245s or 235s on the rear as well.. Hopefully someone with 19s should tell you..

That's becaust the information it's wrong.

Std wheels are all the same size 16x7... why would nissan make a 3mm different offset and 1inch difference in width for a wheel that looks identical, and is applied to Skyline, Silvia, Maxima etc? It would be a manufacturing and assembly nightmare!!

PS stick to a 235 in the front, 265 in the rear - a 255 will require guard rolling in the front and will very likely scrub and fould alot in a 19 on an R33

265's are wider than a 255 that will scrub and you say go for the 265? Typo Im guessing.

Anyways I have gone back to the shop, and will be going for a 235/35 at the front and a 255/30 at the back, as the 265 on an 8 inch rim has been said to be a little "unstable", if I have to roll the guards the shop has offered to do it inclusive in the price as they are very confident they wont scrub. The spacer issues should be solved by some 5mm spacers, if it needs more then that I will take some off the calliper as otherwise they will start sticking out a bit!
