GTST-VSpec - so do you have any comments on the dump pipe in general? I understand that the wastegate pipe is pretty long (about 60cms) so I guess that might account for the 'sbend' that macka has mentioned... for the dollars I want to make sure its a good quality job! :D

If you go for a seperate wastegate pipe then make sure it joins back up as far down the exhaust as possible, you don't want the wastegate air to cause turbulance and back-pressure. Other than going for a nice mandrel bent system then there isn't much to them. Compare them to the Jap made ones, they are all well designed:D

paul aren't you getting a 3037? so you'd be running a sep wastegate line anyway (from the ext gate), and the sep on your current turbo ur probably aren't experiencing much diff since as you said it is that std turbo

however for some else who may upgrade their turbo to one that uses the same dump pipe flange, it'd be in their best interest to use a partitioned dump pipe, with a late join further to the cat

that's definately what I'm doing when I get my next dump pipe! tho ... smoothest airflow by ext venting wastagate ... which is all too tempting as well! :D

Hi Boo5st,

yep got the dump pipe on, happy with the gains... much more poke in the midrange, less lag, and surprising how much smoother power delivery is ( I think this has to be somewhat due to the seperate wastegate pipe not interfering with the airflow coming off the turbine)..

Its not thermal wrapped or coated, may consider HPC later but there doesnt seem to be any underbonnet temp issues so it would only be to teduce spoolup times. If you want more details on the construction of the dump PM me and I will go through it.

Now just on to fit a HKS or Hybrid FMIC so I can safely lift my boost levels, and then off to SST for a Wolf3d plug and play :)

I figure I will run the stock turbo for a while, hoping around 180-190rwKw will keep me happy for a few months at least, then back in for a GCG hiflow or equivalent, fuel pump, fuel reg, retune and hopefully 230+ rwKw.

Gtst-Vspec - I would love to get a ride in yours sometime, get a feel for the setup you have with the Wolf3d - you still running stock turbo?
