16-18k if in good nic

True, I saw some for around 16 that look fine in pics but upon inspection were in really bad condition. buy one under 16k and most probably it will be not very good to put it kindly. Or simply put a pos.

you should be able to get Good S2 stock standard (exhaust/POD) for about 16,500 - 18K the latter with really good wheels and FMIC.etc.. The problem is lot of people have them for sale but can not sell them (No demand) so even if it's listed for 18K if your a serious buyer should be able to get it down!!!!..

as for K's well...All Japs are like that..so just check for condition of the car and get good checkup done by Jap Performance workshop (not by VicRoads/RACQ).

then you should be ok, also do a 100,000K service regardless of the K's if the current owner dont have receipts for it.

i got mine for 16,500 mint example but it was for sale at 18500.....you should track carsales/carpoint for some time and spot the owners getting desperate as time goes by and bounce...worth or not market is determine by demand

:sorcerer:

well, demand can be because of various reasons....i personally think there are too many of them around also the whole hoon image...but don't want to go their...

which state are you in....depending on that every state sub forum will have tread/s about workshops and most workshops do inspections for a fee (compression, leak down test, general under body corrosion , accident damage, cooling system and so on) also check for it to see if the car has clear title (no loan or finance owing) can also do VIN check....their is tread for that in this forum too... ;)

My advice go for a mint S2 r33 GTST (the newer the better) 40th anniversary model is the most sort after R33 S2 - pre loved one already in the country and trust me you will be very happy.

Good luck

totally agree with whats already been said, I got my 96 S2 R33 with AVS wheels and a couple of other little things, low k's and immac condition, for 16, they were asking 18. Have a good look and you can find some good value cars....just check out the previous owner and how they cared for the car aswell...

    • Sadly I can confirm if you are actually seeking to drift, you will quite easily spin up one wheel. Even if you're going in a straight line. I am not entirely sure of the metrics/terminology here but there's only a certain amount that the helical will actually spin both wheels. I've seen it on video with my own car where two lines of smoke switch over to just one after you really get in to it. Unlike with a clutch diff where you can keep your foot planted until the car regains grip, in my experience with the helical you want to be utilizing traction control allowing LIMITED slip or lifting (partially) when you start to spin up both tyres with a Nissan helical. Which makes them pretty sub optimal for drifting duty. That said... this is probably a helical on numbers alone. Just put the Kazz in
    • Let's just fix the problem by f**king the rest of the gearbox.
    • Unlikely, as per Greg's post. This is not helical diff behaviour unless one wheel is up off the ground. Shimming what? You don't "shim" a mechanical LSD. Probably not in the sense that you have heard of people "shimming" a diff. And the process that Nissan f**kwits call "shimming" a diff involves super-preloading a VLSD cartridge against the side of the diff to create a friction/wear point (in a place that it wasn't supposed to have one) to make the sloppy, useless, viscous diff into a hybrid viscous/mech abortion. In case it isn't clear, I consider the process to be stupid. Nike.
    • How much does the shifter move when the car is in gear with the engine off? If it is more than about 1cm you need to replace your shifter bush. Your shifts will just get crunchier, not faster, with a short shifter unless you also rebuild the whole box
