Hi guys

just got done last night for a few things including noise and emission test,

i know my car will not pass for sure, this is a list of whats on it

its an r33 with an F-con V

an Evc

full exhaust from turbo

a pod and a BOV

i talked to others and they suggested

to put a stock exhaust, change the pod to stock, change the bov, leave the boost off, run it on normal unleadedand and change the spark plug to the normal NGK

any one sugest anything else or any of these will not make any difference.

am sure someone had to go through this before what did you do, any help is very much appreciated.

thankx in advance

hey dude, i just did an emissions test for epa, i failed it, i had a turboback exhuast system, even with the silcencer i failed it cause dey wanted me to weld it on,

but if u weld it u loose power, so what i did was i changed the muffler and flange not exactly sure what the mechanic did but the made it quieter,

but ive lost power, but when i pass the test ill put my old exhaust back on, and i had a blow off valve n i failed that as well, just put ur old 1 back on

if u hav it, i think its gota be plumback, i have a pod filter that was fine, they dont look in to mods or anything, just anythign that causes pollution

I gone done for similiar things in the past too....at the end of the day, it's just not worth it... so much money into it, and in the end you have DE-MOD... but I guess, the law is the law...

In your situation, I recommend that you take off the BOV and put on a plumback.... then change the Air filter back to stock... and finally (if you have a front mounted intercooler), get some mesh and cover it up!

Good luck mate.

if u have FMIC is ok. u just change standard BOV, Stock air box, standard exhaust. one of my custermer got done and the p**s ask him to took the kick panel off n check whether is standard ecu or aftermarket. They also took pics of the EPA.

Good Luck Mate

    • It's something we all have to consider as time marches on. Also consider lifted rally MX5 conversion at that point.
    • I should be fine for a few more years, whilst I do have arthritis I also exercise and do mobility training every day to keep as fit and healthy as I can, military life, which is the actual cause of most of my joint issues, has set daily regimes, which I weirdly enjoy I also train alot smarter now, not really focusing on lots strength or puffy muscles, I'm more focused on maintaining what I have for my future older self, I actually train as much mobility now as I do exercising Check out this "simple" drill I have been doing daily prior to training now for a while now, this has worked wonders in my all round mobility
    • I'd say one thing that may make you sell is the same reason the guy with the hard top roof sold his. He got old, and his back was giving him too much grief stopping him getting in and out... Old guy said he was 73! He looked and sounded younger than 73 to me! Or maybe I'm just aligning with old people more...
    • Already looked at a few prior to getting the MX5, really nice car, had all the mod cons, but I wasn't really sold on the new "look" I did miss my 2017 Limited, and I personally prefer the "look" of the older car over the new model, but, when pondering I kept going back looking at MX5's But it was same same for the new ND's, I wasn't sold on the new "look", especially the RF with its weird roof, which only half goes down, like a targa top sort of thing As I stated before, I did look at NC's, but the cars I looked at were PRHT's, but I didn't like their roof line "look" of the PRHT, until I saw the soft top version, (someone on SAU posted a for sale ad for one with a soft top that caught my attention, you can blame them for my choice.....🤣) and.... that old style detachable hard tops were available for them, which keeps the old MX5 more smoother flowing roof line, and the more rounded body style, similar to the NA-NB, to me, the arse end of the ND looks to "modern" Much like how I prefer the NC1 front bar, over the later models How long will I keep this car for is unknown, but currently, there's nothing else out there that "floats my boat" for a small, fun, little "sports car", that I can play with and enjoy looking at and driving But, who knows what the future holds, and going off current new car styling, if I replace it, it will be a older model something something
