## Is This A Maf Fault ? ##

I've spent the whole weekend trying to sort out the idleing problem with my gtst. I've gone thru the whole cleaning thing with the throttle body, ICV and even removed all the plugs, cleaned re-gapped and taped up and cleaned the coilpacks.

I've reset the ECU that many times i've stopped counting!

I've taken out the new 255lph fuel pump and put the original back in and cleaned out the fuel filter.

AND YET IT STILL IDLES LIKE A C**T!!!!!:sorry:

So as a matter of course i removed the ind kit cone and then the MAF from the air intake, and low an behold it idles along great, not lumpy at all, it sounds lovely, UNTIL i plug the connection back on to the MAF then the engine dies!!!

Without the MAF connected the engine idles great but as suspected as soon as throttle is applied the whole thing becomes unbalanced and not very nice.,

Now i've tried cleaning the MAF sensors with switch cleaner but that hasn't made any difference at all.

Is this a fault with the MAF or is it something else that is taking the signal from the MAF when it is plugged in?

If it is the MAF, where can i get one and how much can i expect to pay?

Yes it is A MAF Problem. Replace the unit. There are plenty options. 300zx, Q45, you may have to rewire and may need software like a Pwr FC. I have a Pwr FC with a Q45 unit. Works Great.

just find someone in your local area with an r33 and borrow their afm for a few minutes

then if that works you just need to source a 2nd hand 33 afm, should be no more than $100
