As the title says I'm considering selling my R33,

- Nismo 2 way mechanical diff

- Turbosmart 38mm Plumb-back BOV

The car looks nice in the photo's . I looked at it when the other guy had it and it was abit sad. Did you fix up any of the paint work ?, have trouble with the engine ? , not that it was all that bad in the first place

Yeh the bonnet, front bar and front guards have been painted, the engine's been rebuilt and there have been a fair few other changes.

Much more presentable car now, not that as you say it was ever that bad

Hey man, could be quite interested. And in a perfect location of about 20 mins from me.

Standard suspenion or coilovers?

Any brake upgrades to help slow this missle?

Any cam upgrades? Shafts? Gears?

Thanks champ

Car did run a 12.2 on street radials - couldn't get traction but ran either 122 or 124mph (can't quite remember)

The suspension is standard - I have both std springs and reset ones (as in the pics)

Car has high quality brake pads and cross drilled front rotors (done about 100km)

Car has standard cams however I have a pair of Poncams sitting in my room that we might be able to come to an arrangement on

  • 2 weeks later...

The car had the inlet/exhaust manifolds removed and I have just re-fitted them.

The motor is 5000km old (about 12months) and was built by a friend who is very experienced building motors.

I have receipts for most of the gear, pistons are 20thou

What sort of fuel economy do you get?

About what RPM's does the boost come on? Is it pretty sluggish down low? I wouldn't mind seeing dyno sheet if you've got it scanned.

Cheers!

Not looking at swapping for another skyline,

can scan the dyno sheet on the w/e although your sig says you've already got an r33?

Boost starts high 2's and hits full boost about 4k

Had an R33, sig fixed. Don't worry about scanning it, I'm probably after something that comes on earlier. I guess I was dreaming that an rb25 with this much power could spool up early :sorcerer:

Thanks anyways!

    • Damn... Not the feedback I want to hear.
    • Twas your car many moons ago that gave me the idea!
    • Forgot to mention. I love the fact that Greg, Gregged Up, the model of his car, that has so many gregged up stories about its build! I had to have a little laugh. At the same time thinking "That's the sort of thing I'd do to myself!"
    • Not yet, might end up being easter now, didn't end up getting time off over xmas.    I've been seeing some concerning things online now too. Lots of people with issues, could all be setup issues but the consequences in some cases are significant.    All of the below are other peoples stories, not mine and are unverified.  Seen 2 x broken adapter ring that destroyed the gearbox as it failed.   They still do seem to have twin plate rattle despite claims of silent. Several issues with it not holding power but some evidence of constant pressure on plate. Setup issues with bite point.   Lot of people after 2-4 weeks swapping back to another brand.    On the positive side, I've seen a barra put down near 1000hp at the wheels and its held it.  Also everyone seems to confirm the pedal is light.    Does have me a little cautious and looking at ATS carbon clutches again .......
    • I'm late to the party on this one but good to see common sense has prevailed and the turbo kit is coming.
