Looking at booking a 6pm virgin flight to cbr leaving at 6pm sunday evening, will i have enought time to make it there? race starts at 2pm and goes for an hour forty, say finishes then at 4pm. Allowing 45 for check-in, can ill make it to the airport in 1hr 15? Can take a cab, though would prefer cheaper option.

Also, having never been to the gp here, where should i be looking to sit if gen admin? should i take foldup seats or just a rug or what? do you have to get there early to get a decent spot and mind it all day like i suspect?

You might be pushing it as I assume there will be large demand for cabs and probably large lines for the tram when it finishes.

If youre interested, I have two spare tickets for the Senna grandstand (one of which has been claimed by Beer Baron) which I am willing to sell at below 50% original purchase price to get rid of it.

No chance of making it to the air port... it takes 10 mins just to get out of the Albert Park! Cabs will be in high demand and there'll be A LOT of traffic in the area because so many roads are blocked off. Better off giving yourself an extra hour. Nothing worse than rushing like a mad man to go somewhere after such a big day.

if you're going Gen Admission, don't bother with the chair or rug unless you're gonna get there at about 6am to get a spot, and when the gates open you have to RUN.. so have the spot picked out beforehand

you will be standing otherwise.

As for the flight, I'd just be jumping on the early one back here on monday morning... like 6.30am or whenever it is.

Geez, you guys must have all gone to a different GP!!!!!

I got to the circuit about 8:50 or so, not many people about could basically sit/stand/lay wherever the hell I wanted.

As for leaving, I had to walk from one end of the circuit to the other.......and still caught the 5:20pm flight home.

What would you say were the good parts of the track???

General Admin wise the places to be are:

- turn 9

- turn 11 and 12 (especially in the wet)

- turn 13

- turn 15

All places have there own good qualities, and nearly all will provide some form of race day entertainment. Be it either an overtaking opportunity or a corner that is slightly tricky and you bound to see some carnage. Most will have a superscreen closeby aswll which always helps.
