If you are running a turbo motor, there is no point to having CAI as the air gets heated up then it passes through the turbo anyways.

Thats where the intercooler comes into effect.... cooling that air back down again after it leaves the turbo and before it enters the manifold.

Might be a bit obvious, but hey... that might help clear it up for someone :ermm:

*edit*

aaaaaand then I notice which section of the forum this is in... naturally aspirated performance hey??? *slaps forehead*

for NA cars. just cut out 1 of the intercooler pipe holes.. get some house ducting and run a duct to your front bumper. if you dont want to do any cutting. you can do a few little tricks with r33s.. i had 2 2.5" pvc pipes ducting up behind my headlight...

Works great for heat soak on motors. You'll find you can sit in traffic and it won't feel heat soaked so much!

I had a polished pipe on my 32 gtst and on boost it didn't make much difference, i think i gained 5hp peak power (mind you i was runnin 20psi on a bigger turbo so less on standard turbo and even less on n/a motor) but as i said down low and on those hot days sitting in traffic the motor seemed alot happier. I had it positioned where the stock cooler was so it had that air-flow running through it also.

Plus is looks very nice if you care about the appearance under your bonnet.

They do say you have to be careful with puddles etc but i never had a problem...

I'm currently getting another one made up on my 34 gtt as we speak!

there is a couple of bad things about that. 1 is you will get water in your airfilter. the other fact is the longer piping means less responice. and youd have to clean it every 1000ks or less

also it means sombody could steal your airfilter and in my own personal opinion it doesnt look good to have a pod filter visable

i still dont know wat im gonna do kepe changing my mind i may get a cold air box then run a duct from the front bar up through the intercooler hole or wat ever i cut out. ill have to get sum people to look at it to make sure nothing will be defected or anything like that, if so its favours from freinds time

I noticed no less responce, end of the day theres still air in the piping and in an n/a u never have to build up positive pressure either!

My air-filter was as good as the day i bought it, id say if it did get wet the water would clean the thing bahahahah

Also how funny would it be someone tryin to stick thier hands in some small vent in ur front bar un-doing tiny screws to get at your pod filter. If they managed to get to the screws they deserve the bloody thing lol! I think they'd prefer to go to supercheap and get one for $20 :D

I had to have it custom made as there isn't a kit for the car bud. Personally i thought it was great and as i said there's one going on my r34 as we speak!
