would you be able to make a normal lcd screen into a touchscreen? or do you have to replace the lcd for the touchscreen function?

You can buy touch-screen overlays, to enable a touch interface on a conventional LCD or CRT screen. I've seen the big 17" or 19" overlays, can't remember seeing little ones, but im sure they are available. What are you planning?...

was wondering if i can make use of my factory sat nav lcd.... into something useful.. like carpc? anyone tried this before?

What make is your car?

I think you'd need to use a VGA cable from the carputer to the screen to ensure you get decent resolution for a PC. The factory sat nav system might just accept RCA+Video In, not VGA in?

borrow a laptop

get svideo to rca adapter

plug audio from laptop to the control box in the boot

and then plug video out into the control box into the boot as well.

there is red/white/yellow rca input behind the rear firewall cover in the boot.

then go to the screen and swith to the aux input.

vtr2 i think is the one for the boot

see what the resolution etc comes up like.

this will help you decide if it is useful

also remember the screen is NTSC so switch the output from the laptop.

interesting... now i got to find out how to make it open and close.... since the controls for it is on the navigation panel.. any ideas? its an r34 gtt
