Hello there everyone!!

If anyone has seen my R33 skyline in the last 2 days, could you please let me know ASAP.

I gave to hte card yard who i bought it off to get some things fixed on it and knowone there knows where it was taken. The person who organised it had gone on holidays and i need my car back. The car yard is in springwood, so i am guessing it is on that area somewhere. I have called the police but all i can do is report it stolen.

IF you have seen it please let me know as i want my car back. the number plates are AMYLEE

here are some pics

that sucks... will keep an eye out for it pretty hard to miss thoose number plates....

very nice car BTW....

There are a few options that I would take, if you havn't already done so.

1) The car yard should have contact details of the person that went on holidays. Nearly everyone has a mobile these days.

2) Ask the car yard if there is a regular workshop that they use.

3) Try ringing around a few workshops in the local area to see if they know anything.

hmmmm i swear i saw something simular to that coming home from work this week from cleveland.. was near the redland bay exit i was going home to the coast.... didnt get a look at the plates ill keep an eye out though....id be tearing someone a new ass .

Damn, that really sucks... I'll keep an eye out for it! It sounds like either something dodgy is happening, or this is possibly the worst customer service I have ever heard of. This might sound sexist, but have you tried taking a (preferably older) guy with you? Some places still treat women like idiots, and won't take you seriously until a guy starts doing the talking. Might be worth a go?

*puts on mod hat*

Please keep business name/s to PM - I know none have been mentioned yet but the question has been asked, just getting in first :D

Hey Amy,

Sorry to hear of the trouble you're having. As the yard is not answering your telephone calls, have you tried calling with your number set to private? (most mobiles have the option of not sending the mobile number).

If you have and still no joy I would be contacting your local police station and if you can get them to even take your report, I would report it stolen.

By the way, what on earth were they fixing for you to have required your car overnight anyway??

Best of luck,

Karen

If you do eventually get hold of the yard I'd be mentioning things like 'police', 'theft', and 'lawyers' if you haven't already (though I'm guessing you have). It's completely unacceptable for them to not even know where your car is, and ridiculous that the guy who's "gone on holidays" didn't tell anyone or make a note anywhere. If it were my business and something like this happened, I'd be bending over backwards to fix it... it's disturbing that they seem to be doing the exact opposite.

As has been mentioned, file a police report. At the very least this will give you a report number (or case # or whatever), which you can use with insurance if required, or to chase up with the police at a later date.

I don't know if they're likely to give a toss but it might also be worth contacting your insurance company and having them chase it up - as I said they may not care or want to be involved, but it'd be a hell of a lot cheaper for them to do some chasing than to pay out on a theft claim.

I wouldn't be surprised if the "staff member on holiday" in fact crashed the car and it's at a panel shop being fixed.
Exactly. Something doesn't add up here.

I have set my phone on private number and called. They were getting a saragent vin for it and repairing road worthy issues because they didn't get a road worthy done when i bought it

Not sure what you mean by a "saragent vin" (surrogate?) but if they're doing something dodgy with VINs from another chassis, that's farked. Get the numbers and have it checked out (REVS, any other agency you can think of) straight away.

If they didn't get a roadworthy done when you bought it, the car would not have had a legit safety cert, and therefore it was illegal to sell or advertise for sale. If I were you, I'd be demanding the car back IMMEDIATELY, and tell them that you'll take it elsewhere to have it checked over and have repairs carried out as necessary at their expense. It's certainly a lot better for them than having the Office of Fair Trading (or ACA) asking questions about why/how they sold a car without a safety cert, and potentially botched VINs.

just by any chance the owner/manager wouldnt go by the name of mark would he?

A good mate of mine bought a GTIR from an import yard in springwood and has had huge dramas including never being able to get hold of the person in charge for days his car going "missing" lots more things to list.

if it is at the same place you car will more than likely be at XX XXXX XXXX (pm for the name) better not put it up just in case it is a different yard in question,

Cheers,

Dan

    • The MX5 has had some annoying rattles in both front doors over bumps So I installed fancy pants door bushings, which stopped all of the rattles with the windows up, but........with the windows down there was still rattles, so after some googling,  and a chat with MX5 Mania, I got some new door to glass weather seals, all the rattles, windows up, or down, are gone now Shout out to MX5 Mania, the weather seals were on sale, and when I head to Dural to pick the up they even fitted them for me for free I did see a "really" nice Blue NA sitting out front   and this Black NC PRHT that looked like it has sat in the sun for its whole life and never had a wash, the clear coat was non-existent, an it looked horrible, really horrible, but, it had a nice turbo kit with over 200kw, the thing went like a cut snake, bagging the rears through the gears and dosing like a champ 😍 But, as I've always stated, I am keeping my NC na, I'm happy with the current power the car makes In other news: MX5 Mania do a drive in drive out turbo kit, the only minor additional part recommended for boosting my car, as it sits now, is a oil cooler, and that bonnet vents are definitely required for track use Aftermarket version look a bit to "racecar" spec I wonder how Focus RS bonnet vents would look?????
    • Paint is only structural when applied to the outside of Chinese and Indian cars. Otherwise it should never be present between mechanical joints that were intended to be metal to metal. Pain slips, slides, cracks, compresses, and add thickness that wasn't intended to be there. It comes firmly under the category of "just no".
    • appreciated it thanks   There are threads on the adaptor. I rear re anodising but didn’t know it will reduce strength   re mating services needing to be flat/ not painted, why would that be? I am devastated as car been off for a year, fixed power steering then installed bm57 master cylinder and just before driving it this came up. So annoyed   worried and afraid to drive it, no fun caliper coming off

    • And boosters can be rebuilt by the same sort of brake shops that will rebuild a brake booster.
