Gb#2: Jun Spec Crank Collar & Oil Restrictors (x2)

Recommended Posts

Hey all,

I just got off the phone with Matt @ the GTR Shop in New Zealand. I purchased a crank collar and 2 oil restrictors (package deal) for a total of $130AUD delivered.

He told me that the collars are made to JUN specifications and are sought after in bulk from many people in the US with RB engines (10-20 sets a week). Oil restrictors are the same as the ones you would get from Tomei (1.1; 1.2; 1.5mm available)

Matt asked me to put this up as it's easier for him to get something done in bulk than to make 50 trips to the post office...

1-5 sets: $130AUD delivered

5-10 sets: $120AUD delivered

10-15 sets: $110AUD delivered

By "set" - 1 x crank collar; 2 x oil restrictors (any combination)

Straight from Matt:

We supply grubs screws as a fail safe, but if correct fitting is acheived are not needed other than piece of mind, screws are 5mm

Also interested, this is what I need to run an rb26 pump on an rb30 bottom end right?

Nope, it's for using a wide flange drive oil pump on a narrow flange crank eg; R32GTR N1 oil pump on an RB20/25/30 or early RB26 crank.

:( cheers :)

:P cheers

Isn't that what I am trying to do? trying to put an 33gtr oil pump (wide flange) on a Rb30 crank (narrow flange)?

Ok so that's 4 sets... need one more

BTW I'm still waiting for the one I ordered so shipping from NZ has taken a little bit long.

so is this an actual jun collar or knock off.

ill be buying one of these very soon, once someone can confirm this i could be interested if they arrive soon.

(organiser pm me pls as i wont check here often)

thanx

Humz; Matt from the GTR Shop has advised that this is a JUN spec knock-off - the materials and dimensions are exactly the same (what I've been told anyway)

I'm STILL yet to receive mine but will post up photos as soon as I do.

Just received the following in the mail:

1 x Crank Collar

1 x Grub Screw (black)

1 x 1.50mm Restrictor

1 x 1.25mm Restrictor

I'm not an engine parts expert but they look to be in good form; the machining is pretty good (no rough edges; no barbs etc etc.)

I'll take some photos tonight and post them up :D

Oh BTW; the reason why there is a 1.5 and a 1.25mm restrictor in there is because it comes with 2 and I didn't know what I needed / wanted so I just took the two most common ones :D

    • I found the same with Subaru’s.  I own and love the SG9 Forester, after that model 2008+, Subaru threw the ugly stick at all their line up and somehow managed to make them look worse with every succeeding year.  lol
    • It's something we all have to consider as time marches on. Also consider lifted rally MX5 conversion at that point.
    • I should be fine for a few more years, whilst I do have arthritis I also exercise and do mobility training every day to keep as fit and healthy as I can, military life, which is the actual cause of most of my joint issues, has set daily regimes, which I weirdly enjoy I also train alot smarter now, not really focusing on lots strength or puffy muscles, I'm more focused on maintaining what I have for my future older self, I actually train as much mobility now as I do exercising Check out this "simple" drill I have been doing daily prior to training now for a while now, this has worked wonders in my all round mobility
    • I'd say one thing that may make you sell is the same reason the guy with the hard top roof sold his. He got old, and his back was giving him too much grief stopping him getting in and out... Old guy said he was 73! He looked and sounded younger than 73 to me! Or maybe I'm just aligning with old people more...
    • Already looked at a few prior to getting the MX5, really nice car, had all the mod cons, but I wasn't really sold on the new "look" I did miss my 2017 Limited, and I personally prefer the "look" of the older car over the new model, but, when pondering I kept going back looking at MX5's But it was same same for the new ND's, I wasn't sold on the new "look", especially the RF with its weird roof, which only half goes down, like a targa top sort of thing As I stated before, I did look at NC's, but the cars I looked at were PRHT's, but I didn't like their roof line "look" of the PRHT, until I saw the soft top version, (someone on SAU posted a for sale ad for one with a soft top that caught my attention, you can blame them for my choice.....🤣) and.... that old style detachable hard tops were available for them, which keeps the old MX5 more smoother flowing roof line, and the more rounded body style, similar to the NA-NB, to me, the arse end of the ND looks to "modern" Much like how I prefer the NC1 front bar, over the later models How long will I keep this car for is unknown, but currently, there's nothing else out there that "floats my boat" for a small, fun, little "sports car", that I can play with and enjoy looking at and driving But, who knows what the future holds, and going off current new car styling, if I replace it, it will be a older model something something
