C/F and fibreglass is very brittle, be very careful when drilling as the bits can grab and make a rough edges. I'd recommend using a small rotary tool with a fine grinding bit. Just mark out the size of the hole and grind carefully. Should get a better result than a drill.

I don't like drilling carbon/fibre, because as people have said, it's brittle. But, bonnet pins for those bonnets are pretty much mandatory. I don't know how many times i've seen it where those carbon bonnets have flipped up due to flexing etc.

That's why I still run the stock bonnet.

yeah I'm not sure what man whore is reffering to, but I've never had any trouble. you want a good bit, in good condition with fine pitch. and a high drill speed. put masking tape over the area you want to drill. drill a very small pilot hole then away you go. I've uised this technique to drill from about 1mm thick to about 3 or 4mm thick. you can finish the hole a bit with a light, fine, round file.
