I've got to share this story with you guys,

We were in China Town the other night for dinner, parked our car a long the street slightly just before DRAGON BOAT but it was a no standing zone. Basically we've always park our cars there and so are million others, i always get confuse with the signs situation in the City, you can get 10 different signs on one little street so my theory is, if there is a car that parked there and it didn't have a nice little pink ticket stuck on the windscreen, that mean i can park my car there and i'm safe.

Anyway, after dinner and a short stroll around the block, we were shattered to see a pink notice on our windscreen so we were like damn, serve us right, its $107 for parking in a NO STANDING ZONE. it must have gone up since the last time i ever got a parking fine and it used to be like $40. We drove home feeling a bit sad but then i had a look at the ticket again, i couldn't believe my eyes, they keyed a wrong number. Another word if my number plate was RRM288, they keyed RRM289. I double checked, and checked again, even pulled into the servo jump down and take a closer look at my own number plate and laughing. (the people at the servo must have thought i must have did a hit and run or stole someone's plate)

To this point, i dont' know whether i should feel sorry for the Parking inspector or laugh his head off because i'm ain't going to pay for it, its not my number plate, i dont' care, he must have had a few drink before his shift work or he must have left his reading glass at home. I'm reasonable,i dont' hate parking officers or whatever that they are called, i believe in the saying "you do your crime, you serve your time" I was ready to pay for my fine as i was in the wrong but what can i say, haha  .

Cool, good for you.

I believe those parking officers are blind in some way. Last ticket I got (parking more than the stated hours) is irrelevant to me, as I have a disabled parking permit on my windscreen, but he/she just did one anyway and wasted my time to a trip to the council.

Hey west, if that is your real number plate i'll remove it and use another random plate to state the example. You never know who's reading the forums, especially in the public section :P .

Thanks heaps AL, its my real number plate but it wasn't my car in this case .

Haha thats cool. Don't they take digital camera pics when they give a fine? they might look at it again..and re-issue..

Possibly..

I know they do this in our area take photos of cars before issueing ticket so u might still get a fine reissued in the mail or something.

yeah...the parking fines have gone up to $107, i got one myself the other day in prahran....came back from the docs, and saw one. The parking inspector was waiting for someone to muck up...cos I got it a minute after i parked the car.

    • Update time!  The JZX110 had some maintenance needing to be done, so a lot of the seals with replaced to fix some oil leaks. Also used this opportunity to whack on a front mount that I'd bought some time ago.  I also finally got the rear lip painted and fitted.  I then got the exhaust done. It's just a catback for now. Custom made 3" stainless with a turn down. I could have a tip coming out, but it will require cutting the rear lip and possibly the bumper itself. So far I do like and it's made the car a little more zippy.  Close out with some nice pictures of the cars and a sneak peek of what's next.

    • Just something I found searching for more info on Emotion R, apparently the ECR33 Skyline GTS25t was either originally black, or there were two of them, the black one being the original demo car, then building a white one which was part of the 1997-onwards (to at least 2008!) Cockpit Tatebayashi Tokyo Auto Salon booth demo cars. It appears that Emotion R closed down in 2008 and was declared bankrupt in 2010: http://bank-db.com/hasan/208365. Scan of a magazine with the black R33 from 1996: Wayback machine archived page from May, 2000: https://web.archive.org/web/20000529061027/http://www.emotion-r.co.jp/skyline.html Option magazine with a few photos from the Cockpit Tatebayashi booth at the Auto Salon from various years: 2002: http://www.jdm-option.com/photo/index.php?action=item&category_id=154&image_id=3507 2003: http://www.jdm-option.com/photo/index.php?action=item&category_id=137&image_id=3033 2005: http://www.jdm-option.com/photo/index.php?action=item&category_id=116&image_id=1831 In 2008 Cusco website mentions that the Cockpit Tatebayashi ECR33 was displayed at that year's Tokyo Auto Salon: https://www.cusco.co.jp/event/2008/12/post_735.html As of 2021 it appears that the ECR33 demo car ended up being exported to Florida, USA: https://rmcmiami.com/inventory/1996-nissan-skyline-r33-cockpit-tatebayashi-demo-car-big-te06-turbo-endless-brakes-lsd-450hp/ And finally here's Google streetview of the Emorion R garage in 2023 which is amazingly not only still there, but the showroom is still full of various parts in stock and funishings, etc.: https://maps.app.goo.gl/ttyEAZdZLyzermyT9 Apologies for nerding out a bit. I used to love doing this 20 years ago on SAU and got a bit nostalgic for a moment... 😅
