We wont be getting back into Cams licensing....I personally will just join SAU NSW to get my licence

yes, i have looked into that, and have noticed that quite a few people have done so.

to be honest i was seriously re-considering hard whether or not to re-new my sau membership for 2007, being here since before the qld chapter was launched, being at the launch up till present - i feel i am in a position to make/pass judgement.

i think the cams licensing will be the foundation for a strong member/event base... simply passing off members to nsw to get a license (as convienient as it is) isnt a very enticing incentive to join. i know qld is basically still teething, and not being on the event/member board myself it does seem a little hipocritical.

but it's just a bit of member - exec feedback??

edit: the wakefield trip is certainly sparking my interest... and i'd be down for that kinda stuff.

but a quick look into the members events section and i'm sure you'll see what i'm getting at.

i know gympie is being sorted, but it seems like alot of the events are organized externally of the club.

the short answer is it is over 6k a year to have and a further 1k per event..our tracks aren't CAMS affiliated therefore our club would make use of this only rarely.

New south wales is in a different boat as all their tracks are CAMS so their members make use of the affiliation several times a year so thier members get value out of that 6k

It would be great to have CAMS affiliation but seriously I think out of the 100 odd members we have about 10 of us would actually make use of it to do things like sprints ect..then the other 90 people would be complaining there is no money for anything else!

I am hung over as

No walking, no correspondence will be entered into ha ha

about that, did i wake u up this morning? :P

I was awake I just want feeling very alive ha ha

lol fair enough

there was 1 stack when we were there. was an evo that lost it in the chicane going up the straight (the skid straight) stopped racing for 20mins or so. also this commy had a huge moment coming out of the 'sweeper' and went from gutter to gutter, but held it!

dammit I wanted stacks

hey thanks for the nice words fineline!! thats was my black r32 gtr that you saw at gatton today and it was a real blast of an event as it was last year.we were defending the title as we won the event last year.

bunta i'm not going to get into into an argument with you but, if you had have been their derek pingle himself said that our car was probably the fastest sprint vehicle in the country and i tend to agree with him. (of course as i would).and i think mark did break the tintop record today with a 35.4, our car is a standard capacity engine with a standard crank, with a set of pistons and rods, the dearest thing on the car is a ppg gearbox and the brakes (brakes were replaced because they failed on me last year and i crashed). also for the record alot of the cars we beat were on slicks and we were on re55's hards that we had left over from the dutton rally. the car that came second was the skelta g force which from memory is worth about a hundred plus grand , so about double what weve put into our car.

oh for the record! i would like to see an evo run 10.20@137mph down the quarter at willowbank and then run 1.17 second on the national circuit at Q.R and 1.06 at morgan park all on the same weekend with out changing any set up.

i also own an evo 9 and it cost more to buy and put a few mods on it to run 12.2@112mph at willowbank than it cost me to buy and build my gtr .

Your car is gun....I love it, I was just giving Noel crap, he likes it :P but I guess that doesnt come across In unspoken word too well!

Sorry to cause any offense!

If you are looking for a CAMS affiliated club have a look at the Holden club of SE QLD. Craig from Hornibrook Motorsport recommended them to me. Apparently there are a heap of different makes/models including holdens in the club so it is really only a holden club by name.
