I've been reading everybody's comments in regard to the xenons in this thread, and also the thread where the guy was asking about his headlight level switch.

I imported my s2 earlier this year and they did not change the headlights at all, it still has xenons and the light level adjustment works?? I asked them at the time if they have to replace them (as they did on my mates R34 GTT a year earlier) and they said the rules have changed and they are okay now?? I dont know if the compliance workshop was dodgy or this is actually the case, but either way, I got xenons!!

here are some pictures i just took.. this is behind the drivers side main headlight body (Stagea S2)

starting from the left..

- the box screwed onto the side of the headlight is the xenon unit, next on the right is..

- the 3 pin plug is the headlight leveler, next on the right is..

- out of the next 2 smaller plugs - one is the parker light and I’m not sure what the other one is, will take a look.. next on the right is..

- the lid to the main headlight enclosure.. inside this area is where you should hopefully find your Xenon D2R cable!

you will also need the Xenon Bulbs and this bracket that looks like it would hold everything into place

so before you do anything, make sure you still have the xenon unit still attached to the side of your headlight enclosure! after that, check for the D2R harness and socket which should be hidden away nicely inside the enclosure.. if its still al there then it would just be a matter of putting it all back together how it came out of the factory! sorry that i cant do a more detailed write up.. never got the chance to do this myself while it was still in the car :P

half way through my re install and ran into a problem. i think that some of the plastic where the globe and the plug attach has been cut / modified to suit a 12 globe. it looks exactly the same as bryces pics. 1 and 2. the problem is the cover and plug aren't clamped down (dont have any points to clip in anymore). anyone else had this problem. also there are 2 green wires in the loom. im assuming these are ground or the saftey.

ok just went back out to the garage and got one xenon working.... now the bad news. broke a globe. found some on ebay and they have brightness options, stock is 4300k but they have an 6 and 8000k. would it be better to go for one of these

I had to buy a completely new wiring loom, as mine had been cut and disgarded, you might need to do same if you cant attach bulb securely. I went for 4500k bulbs (around factory specs), any higher and they will look blueish and attract attention. Also, dont forget to grommet up the hole that was drilled into the backing plate for the 12v wiring, prevent water/dust getting in when you wash engine. Did you work out which is safety wire etc ? forgot to note it when i did mine.

i am still using the stock loom as they cut it just as it comes out of the light housing. there were 2 small green wires that would be the saftey. these have to make a cuircuit when the globe is pushed in. should be abble to get the globe to sit ok just need to mod the spring a bit
