hey paul just wondering how suitable the base map is PFC for R32 GTR.. initially i failed to turn off the ignition after resetting the ecu and car sounded like a WRX and drove like a Lada.. so i reset the ecu again only this time turn ign on/off and did the learning procedure.. still same result.. my only guess is that base map is unsuitable for my car which is close to stock.. i have read on the forum that base maps typically provide lot more power/response through the band unlike stock restricted ecu.. anyone else have similar result?

the base map is fine and should be suitable and smooth to drive

there should be no strange idling, no smoke, no nosise or dash cluster lights on etc

if you have a strange idle i suspect something is wrong

ie: afms busted

wrong injectors

leaking intake piping

dodgy aac valve

etc etc

have u looked in SENSOR SW / CHECK to see if anything is odd ?

i checked sensor sw and everything showed up fine.. car doesnt hunt on idle at all.. no dash lights.. i have stock injectors.. havent checked afm or leaking piping or dodgy aac valve.. car has no pickup at all even wen its floored on 2nd/3rd gear.. boost doesnt build as quickly either.. put my hks kansai modified ecu back on to check if something had crapped out in the meantime but car went hard.. so i figured it was perhaps base map etc.. was wondering whether its possible to lock values via software like datalogit which isnt cleared with the normal ecu reset..

if youve reset it, then it should be back to defaults

the stock maps are prretty good

i wouldnt call them sluggish but fairly good out of the box

to suit most cars and conditions

try

SETTING, IGN MAP

if you see all zero's then its locked

Really don't mean to hijack this thread just out of curiosity. im currently buying an power fc for my rb20 from a mate who has it obviously tuned for his setup. am i able, when i take possession of the power fc, reset it and install it on my car and run it on a factory just like my standard ecu until i can afford a tune?

if so does this same above process work?

Cheers, Adz

no point, it takes 30 seconds to plug in a pfc so leave it in a drawer until you can afford to tune it

im rather curious to see some of the engines imputs. i would like to see injector duty ect. to make sure im not doing any damage to my car in the mean time.. as it is not a stock engine.

And point taken.. but Also i would like to know.. because sooner or later im going to drive it to the mechanics on the power fc. and would rather not like to be on my mates tune on the way there..
