R32 4 Door. Stiff Hinge.

Hey Ppls,

I'm having a look at an R32 GTS4 4door but it has a rear door that is quite stiff to close.

Is this a common problem with the R32's or 'could' it be accident damage. I tend to doubt a stiff closing door could be accident damage but I'm not crash repairer. :S

Any help would be appreciated...

Prolly just needs some lube in it. Check for misalligning panels and paint chipped off bolt heads that hold on panels. Check for even and original spot welds.

Is it squeeky? 32s are pretty old, and things like hinges etc are actually supposed to be greased regularly.

I forgot the name of the stuff, but there's this really good grease you can get in a spray can. works wonders for things like that.

Mine are a bit stiff too, I call em "Ford doors", they open better with a little upwards tug.

P.S. Wanna swap? I have little use for the extra doors.

yeah its a common problem mine are like that aswell always have been. 'ford doors' is definately accurate. as long as the

latch catches and the door doesn't hit the wheel arch it's probably just a stiff hinge and not previous damage.

as the rears arent used too often they tend to sieze up

try to put some crc or wd40 on it.
