hi guys...

I pre-ordered a V500 plug in for GTT to realise that it cannot be ready in time for mods.... so I'm left with a few options here. all of which uses piggy back comp...the TCS is already disconnected, so won't have problems with lights lighting up..

anyways what are the advantages and disadvantages for piggyback comp..

the ECU will be required to

-run up to 500rwhp map

-run aftermarket fuel system

-control the NVCS

-run MAP

here's the option..

-v500 the non plug in version. Piggy back

-new Greddy ultimate Piggy back

-Haltech Piggy Back

-Motec M48 stand alone

-HKS F-con

thanks

I spoken to garage owner..he ruled out e-manage both the ultimate and the normal one...he said it only alters signal in comp..not a real computer..sumthing like that...anyone care to explain e-manage limitations?

cheers

No piggy backs...lol

They are limited in some tunning options.

Motec is the way to go.

Find a tuner who has used it and go from there.

Motec is out of his budget i would assume.

Its nice to have the best of the best, but reality sometimes says thats not quite right

Why cant you wait for the new ECU to be delivered?

The Motec M48 is still within my budget I've set aside approx $2-3k..

the problem atm is the vehicle is a daily car...It was initially planned for the car to enter workshop during easter break..but then there's event I need to go to during that time..so everything is pushed forward...

although the wolf v500 I think it's a complete ECU in a way...it just doesn't control the misc stuff such as climate control..etc etc...

another options btw..haltech ECUS... anyone used them before?

  • 3 weeks later...

got a haltech e11v2. easily run 500rwhp if you want to spend 2-3k. they are great ecu as well. for an extra 100$ ya get an closed loop boost solonoid/controller. and i believe you can get a plug and play loom for you car.

i am currently looking at the same haltech. and if i can afford after the bills are gone then im going it!

i hear the haltech can contriol almost anything in the car thats controlled by the ecu.

the haltech interceptor(piggy back) is also a great choice but probably be best going for a full ecu.

i have a friend that had an e6x installed in his car and said thats the best thing he has ever spent his money on. before that he had a EMS
