If you have a front mount on a car that didn't come with one factory (your 34 GT-T for example) then the pod is illegal regardless. Cover it with carbon fibre all you want, its still not legal

yep!

The stock airbox is perfectly fine for performance anyhow, no reason to change it.

But ye, ringing for a week and a half is a bit excessive dude.

i dont really have a choice to take the stock airbox off, i need a pod to clear the cooler pipes.

and i will cover it all i want because what the cops cant see cant defect you on.

lol excessive? you tell me what i should do if i cant even drive to work because my 7 days to clear the defect expired yesterday.

some of us work nismoid :)

ok, so you get your "custom omg carbon fibre" cops dont see that u have a pod, but u get defected anyways for other shit, and then they find out that u have a pod.

what do u do?

and how doesnt the airbox clear the cooler piping?

and just becoz u have custom cooler pipes, that doesnt mean they will look past you having a pod. its either one or the other.

can u modify a stock airbox to fit?

mate u own a r34? do u own a r34 with the same cooler? do u own a r34 with the same piping position? no.......i didnt think so.....so mate dont tell me what dosnt fit in my car.....cheeers

Well on the 9th day, god wasnt answering you... i think its safe to say that god isnt there wouldnt you think?

You have a choice, dont get a cooler. Either way, you cant cover the POD, it will still be ILLEGAL.

nismoid im sure ur aware of the law, i was in my mates car who has a BOV, cops pull him over and asked where the BOV was, we all said "wat bov?" so we have a car here which is perfectly legal (Turboed Pulsar lol) which has a BOV which cant be found. u rkn the cops are gonna defect him?

nismoid u have a problem of talkin about crap that isnt needed. if u aint answering the question, no offence get lost. im asking for a air box maker, not ur opinions.

again......no offence "admin" lol

Yep, offending someone trying to help you understand is going to get you more help.

What everyone here is saying is:

1. 2 intake modifications = ILLEGAL

2. a carbon cover on the pod is still a intake modification therefore ILLEGAL and defectable

3. fitting a stock airbox and modifying it to fit is the most LEGAL and appropriate route to sort out your defect.

If you don't want advice, why do you post here???

well i got some advice from chezz, thanks ronin

how does go f**k yourself sound?

you posted a question, and i answered it to the best of my ability.

ive noticed that you always ask questions, and when you get answers, you so defensive and get on your high horse.

if you dont want answers off here then f**k off. no point in being a smartass, coz in the end, no one will give you any help.

i wasnt having a go at you, just trying to help.

just thought it was wierd that u couldnt fit an airbox over the piping

well, he asked for help, and we gave him some answers.

then he becomes a smartass because i dont own an r34 gtt, therefore i know nothing about his car.

if he doesnt want help, he should post.

i could have ignored the topic, but i didnt, i chose to give him some help.

ill admit, i dont own an r34, and yes, i dont know much about them, but i do know, that the airbox can be modified in some sort of way.

and i know its illegal to have a pod and a FMIC

/end rant

I'm getting the feeling some people might have a hostility against anDru just because he is young and has a R34?

No Jannisary/or whatever ur username is.

People are helping, and they are just getting it thrown back in thier faces.

Why would you get one defecting item, to "attempt" to clear another when infact its still illegal.

    • 100% agree. Best bet on an RB will be NEO, but even it will be a long way off. Emissions is one of the big reasons car manufacturers went to DBW and constantly variable cams. When cruising, open the throttle right up, but reduce dynamic compression so low, that it's basically an unrestricted air pump moving very little air.

    • Yes. All of this. But even when you get the NOx as low as you can go on an RB, it will no doubt still be way too high. Same with CO and HCs. The tech and the tuning time just isn't there.
    • Dang. I love the little 'oil used' bingo card on the side.   🤣  Well, now they can use a box and an oil-filled goon.
    • Many many moons ago, I was chatting with Andy Wyatt, about his auto ignition tuning. One of the HUGE things he said to me, when tuning for power, right where you hit peak ignition timing for your max torque, dramatically increases NOx emissions. He was finding in testing, particularly on engines you could advance timing beyond peak torque, that backing the ignition timing off a couple of degrees only made for a small drop in torque (compared to if you keep backing it off further the same amount of degrees) but dramatically reduced NOx emissions. I'd say targetting for 14.7, and he's even mentioned in some scenarios going slightly leaner, and pulling a few degrees of IGN timing will help pass for emissions quite a lot. However, who tunes an RB for emissions
