Heres a pic of all 22 owners - except Amemiya Isami of RE Amemiya, he's a Mazda tuner of course - of Japanese tuning garages and parts companies say that they have already ordered (or are going to order) a 2008 GT-R for tuning/demo car purposes:

I'd say the next GT-R will be very well supported - eventually - for aftermarket tuning, so as far as custom stuff having to be made? Maybe not.

Did you notice its displacement on the left bottom of the page......3.6L...

There must be two types...one for the mums and dads.....4L turbo...and one for th serious,...3.6LTT.

I have heard this though but though it was also a marketing scam for responce.

No I didn't... where does it say that?

Mate there a different capacity quoted in each different magazine out there... seriously 3.6L, 3.7L, 3.8L... and now this british site with 4.0L. The current VQ37HR in the V36 Skyline coupe is a reality though, so that sounds about right to me. But as far as a 'mums and dads' car is concerned... not sure how you can say that when the thing isn't even released yet?

V36GT-R....bottom left of page...unsure what the rest of the Japanese writing is after that though.

Mums and dads is a Phrase....It really means...executives,movie stars, politicians with money,Eddie Macguire type individual.......with no Knowledge on cars.

Non enthusiasts...most people who buy a Porsche...for the image............So these are the people that they want to sell the car to.IMAGE IMAGE IMAGE

Not one will see the track...this is why two motors I believe have been developed.....As stated to me by a Nissan Sales Rep.Not that is 100%....

Why are you so defensive,,,why are all you moderators so defensive and up tight.....this is general discussion.......you have been warned...get off my back...lol

Wtf...? Nice rant towards the end there champ :P

First of all, 'V36' is a chassis number... not displacement. We're up to 'V36' now, last Skyline being the 'V35'... remember that one? Nowhere in that article does it discuss displacement.

I'm not defensive or uptight. You're reading into things too much if you think that.

And heres what I think :) The next GT-R will be an enthusiasts car, it will not be marketed towards mums and dads or 'Eddie Maguire' (lol), and I wouldn't be suprised if Nissan field one in motorsport eventually (not sure which class), and it will see track time in some form or another.

Have to disagree with you there mate. Non enthusiasts who want to show image and status buy 7 series, S class, A8, Phantom and such...

Most of those who buy Porsches and Ferraris are enthusiasts with MORE MONEY than the rest. Can you say an 997 GT3 is just for image? An 360 Challenge Stradale is just for show? Think twice.

Most of these exotic road based track car owners are serious motorsport enthusiasts who probably have more knowledge on cars than you could ever be. They could afford to buy and experience many more different kinds of sports cars. They could afford to take more time off work. And they are more likely to be able to participate in motorsport events more often, without worring about entry fees, tyre and fuel costs, maintenance, break downs and other concerns you may have.

And dont assume these guys wont be the first to own the NEW GTR too.

Porsches are for non enthusiasts? I dont think so.

:P

I meant non turbo 911's and non 4 wheel drive ferraris...this is what the mums and dads drive......GT3 or Enzo is another story.

And yes....I was wrong with the 3.6 litre...36 was the next series number..thanks Rezz

Thanks boys...I still stand my statements(In regards to 2 models 1-for the mums and dads,1 for the enthusiat) and only time will tell if I am right or wrong. And by the way...it is going to be a commercial flop...but we will have a toy to play with in a few years time..lol
