with the noise issue, those bikeys piss me off the most cos they have much louder bikes than any import car i've heard on the street (cept maybe screamer pipes). why dont these people get defected?

also, ask around to borrow a stock airbox and bov and just use them when u take it to the rta

Easiest way!

btw I have a stock airbox & bov lying around somewhere if you need to borrow one

EPA will test for emmisions

EPA will test for noise level as well (As can most exhaust shops)

To clear the other issues, you will most likely need a complete AUVIS inspection? (Blue slip)

Just make them happy, and it's all schweet.

Also pods are legal on any car as long as they are enclosed. And if the copper ever wants to see what air filter I'm running, he's more then welcome to pull my air box apart and put it back together. But I hope he's carrying tools...

Also, if you get defected for BOV or POD etc, fix it, and KEEP IT FIXED! The history stays on your car, and when they write out your notice, they research what has been defected before on the car!

sounds like a lot of bullshit to me . damn cops are assholes - bust you for anything these days . i lost my license like 4 months ago for speeding , and at the time they didnt even check my car - lol. i was more worried about them seeing en exposed pod filter and intercooler. but luckly enough they didnt check anything - thinking they were more conecerntrated on the speeding .

hearing this wants me to put my pod in my front bumper - if its easy enough to do. aslo what is the reason to get defected for an intercooler? are they illegal in every state ? i hear one state has either a pod of fmic regulation - not sure which 1.

I actually have a copy of the Australian ADR's (which is what the cops use to defect you) and I've been meaning to look into printing specific sections around these items (BOV, Pod, etc) but the program is quite user un-friendly.

Anyone with a high speed connection want to have a look through it for me? I think it's about 250mb for the program, would love to have some help finding the specific sections on this should I ever need to confront a cop with the info, would certainly put them in their place!

yes id like to know also what d3ltr33 is asking if u dont mind

i have been pulled over 4 times since i bought my 33 (6 months) and not once have they asked to open the bonnet (knock on wood... i prob just jinxed myself)

but yeah from what i can see, if your not driving a habib-mobile with severely lowered springs big chrome wheels and loud ass exhaust etc usually it is ok

imo it goes by how the officer feels and his first impressions are.

All 4 times i was with my wife and not doing anything wrong and yes im still young only 23

Chris,

What u mean plumbed back? I do have an oil catch can but I do not understand your posting. Plumbed back to??????

Cheers,

EUG...

PS. Chris I wish you could go trough my car and tell me all the wrong ones? Why we can not have a meeting..where we meet and get each other opinion..with what could be wrong before a cop pull his nose in???? Is that a bad idea? Like opinion nite?

ive had my car for over 2 years now... im yet to be pulled over... ive been followed a few times... i have actually had people listening in on the cop radio message me saying im being followed :)

dunno why they never pull me over... i did once take a person to court for being a lieing scumbag, and cause it was a traffic offence, the police had to turn up...

glad you got off :) coulda made a good night pretty shit ;)

I had 2 choices when getting my car engineered for the zorst.change to stock and pass the db test with flying colours or leave the sports on.if the zorst is to loud, and you want to keep it then you have to throw a silencer welded into place into the muffler tip.it cant just be bolted back into place i was told, because it can be removed.same goes for bov.i was going to buy the gfb hybrid bov but had been told by the same engineer that that he wont pass it unless it completely plumbs back into the system.

I passed emissions with fmic & bov.Guilt toy passed with over 330rwkw.so it can be done.you just have to follow some of the guidelines

the gfb (black) stealth plumback series is great looking as it makes the car look stock, serves a purpose and is completely legal.they cost a pretty penny tho.if you buy the whole kit with the plumback pipe kit you are looking prolly at $450-$500.tho they cost less without the plumback kit..buy the bov,go to supercheap and buy radiator hose (1976-79 ford falcon fairlane 8cyl top hose) that will fit the 40mm bov outlet. Then size it up for fitment.then cut the stock plumback metal pipe back far enough to suit. and u will cut out the gradual "S" bend in it.Then make your own reducer out of a smaller hose, put that over the newly cut metal pipe and fit the new pipe over the reducer and clamp it down tightly on both ends.

If you buy the extra plumback kit/pipes the bov will stand out like dogs balls still with all of the silver peices.at least this kit it looks well hidden and like it should be a part of the engine bay.

    • Solid update, got all the downforces now.  You going to be running aus time attack again? love the jacking solution, spend the dollars on what makes it go fast is best way.
    • Back in January, I noticed my car felt noticeably weak. I had the injectors cleaned, which seemed to solve the problem -- until now. Recently, the car suddenly lost power again while driving. Suspecting the injectors, I brought it to the mechanic. He recommended replacing them entirely, saying the current ones were getting unreliable and fiddly to work with. I could not find a direct replacement for my current injectors. The closest match I found were 440cc injectors. This led me to look into the possibility of upgrading -- and of course, that would mean remapping the ECU. From my research I found: The OEM Part numbers are 16600-72L20 and 16600-72L21 Both the RB20DE and RB20DET use the same 270cc injectors. There are much better options out there over the old OEM injectors. Nistune could be a viable tuning option. While the RB20DE isn’t explicitly listed on their site, the ECU is essentially the same as the GTS-T version - just with a different map. The ECU code on mine is listed as supported. One concern is finding a tuner who works with Nistune. Aftermarket ECU like Haltech and Link, but this would be the most expensive choice (and possibly overkill for a mostly stock RB20DE) I admit that I am very new to the tuning scene and would appreciate any insight or recommendations regarding this.   These are some SAU links where I got some of my information from for reference: https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/380324-rb20de-injectors/ https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/477396-factory-270cc-injectors/
    • The inspectors are not forensic by any means but if you forge your documents and/or badgings on vehicle parts and are found out, the consequences are just far bigger than if you just run illegal parts. And their job quite literally is to cross reference what parts you got installed and what your papers say you got. Something as silly as your suspension being 1mm too low will fail you. Nonetheless I asked if someone knew the damn pipe and I certainly did not ask for smartassery or underhanded comments, no idea why you need to be told this. Great way to waste both our time.
    • As useful as you explaining what forgery is... But then again, I wasn't aware your inspectors were also forensic experts and inspect nameplates on each component to confirm everything is original. They must inspect roughly 3 cars a year at that rate. You're right though, my comment doesn't help you in anyway, so I'll go talk to my wall now. Cheers.
    • Say that to the guy that is going to fail your inspection or tow your car for illegal exhaust modifications. If you have anything else useful to say, please go tell your wall.
