Best take off!!!

What is the best way to take off from a stand still... Taking into account the diff and the clutch etc.. I have been riding the clutch in my take offs a bit, this gives me AMAZING acceleration but now i need a new clutch!

use handbrake, or just dump it at 5000 rpm...the minimal wheelspin u will experience is negligible...unless u're in competition

have seen videos where GTR's clutch is let out progressively at 8000rpm...no wheelspin at all

Thats what i have been doing, only at about 6500rpm, I am blaming that for my clutch being stuffed, I can only JUST accelerate now

My 32 is just GTS-t, and I launch @ about 5,000 RPM, and have to feather the clutch a little to stop the wheel spin, but if I get it right I can waste most cars, except faster Skylines of course

Yes just jap, had it for 3 weeks, and if it was slipping already I would be pretty pissed off!

My last clutch was a button one as well; Excedy, and it has double springs on the centre = shudder.

The new one from Just Jap only has single springs, so I am sure this is why I don't have as much shudder anymore.

My last clutch lasted about 8 months I think, and cost me $2,000 because my mechanic did not know what he was doing. (He used to work on my Excel so that explains that!!!)

This change over with new (2nd Hand) Flywheel cost about $850 for parts and some booze for the mates who helped me change it (I am very lucky because labour would have killed my bank account).

No slip at all, just a lot of 3rd and 4th gear chirping.

It was bedded in correctly also which is a must. As I don't think my last clutch was bedded in because it lasted such a little amount of time. (That may also have something to do with my take no prisioners driving)...

A clutch is a wear item, if you slip it, it will wear out.

Alternatively you could try Direct Clutch in Albion. I only say this because after killing two clutches before, I was directed to these guys and have had no problems since. Even with the 4WD putting more strain on it, the clutch just screams for more!
