Hi guys , great site u have here, but just need help with a few things, have done a search but cant seem to find any info

ok im sure u have heard this all before but i am looking at buying a 92mod R32 GTS-T, have found 1 i like and at a good price , but just have a few concerns

- few squeeks coming from the front end , is this normal wear and tear ? Im not stupid and know what to look for just want to hear your thaughts, as u guys have owned these types of cars before.

-My biggest concern is the Air Con isnt working propally seems like it is a common problem with the skylines. Once again i have tried a search but cant find the problem that this car is having, the problem that the seller is telling me is that the Air Con comes and goes , he says somedays it will work and other days it wont , i have driven the car and tried the Air Con and it didnt work all the lights come up on the screan but no air comes out of the vents ! any thaughts of what this might be? and a rough cost of what it would be to repair ?

- one more thing it does is , when you are going down a hill it POPS a bit from the exaust and more often when the car is hot, could this be due to running rich ? the owner of the car said when he baught it it was running like 15 pound boost but turned it straight down to 7 or 8 pound, do they richen these things up when they are under more boost ? could this be causing it to "POP" when backing off the throtle ?

ANY help would be great guys , thanks heaps in advance

Laurie

if your realy worried get an nrma inspection done on the car, best option if your not realy sure. the pop is prob cause its boosted on a standard ecu and the squek isnt normal but might be nothing major, jst geta nrma inspection done, its worth it to save headache's

hey bud, firstly can you give a lil more description as to the squeek? if he has an aftermarket FMIC it could be squeeks coming from the cooler pipes onto the wheel arches. i know my car had squeeky problems from this. so i just recut/extended the hole and whala.

air con might need a new compressor, can be costly if you dont do it yourself.

and lastly sounds like the car needs a tune to test the air fuel ratio's. or a new o2 sensor.

Don't buy an R32 with non-working aircon. Chances are it has the early model compressor which is impossible to find in working order and $1200 new from Nissan (if they even sell it anymore since it's R12 equipment I don't know if they can).

Changing the compressor itself is not expensive it's finding the parts. I tried everyone in the country once with no luck and finally ended up importing a used one from Japan at great expense (very heavy).

If however you can look down at the aircon compressor (or up from underneath) and see a sticker marked "Calsonic" on the compressor then it's not too bad. Calsonic compressors are far more common to find second hand.
