hey, already been for a drive. Can runs like the standard RB25 powerfc.

Just not quite tune perfected as the other one because I have spent much more time getting the tune spot on.

The only thing missing on my RB25 is the NVCS though - but I haven't been pushing it to notice it yet :D

Is laptop software readily available to tune the pfc? How much is it and where can i purchase it etc.

Im really interested in getting a 26fc for my rb20 that i also want to use on a rb26/30 in the future. Would i for any reason be better off just getting a rb26 loom with the head when i buy it and use a unmodified 26pfc?

Confusing stuff but awesome to see u guys are getting good results, will be watching closely cheers :D

Rob,

I'll be using the inlet air temp sensor.. One big reason I've moved from the rb20 pfc to the 26.

There's no issue with the fuel pump FPCM control.

The GTST runs a constant earth through its dropping resistor and uses the ecu to trigger the FPCM which bypasses the dropping resistor with a clean earth. So the voltage goes high. This is done via pinout 104.

The GTR on the other hand has the dropping resistor built in to its FPCM so to speak. Pin 104 is activated to run the fuel pump at low and when off idle pin 106 enables for high.

The GTST won't have an issue as the low pin 104 signal it receives will cause the fuel pump to go high. :D

Pin 104 stays active when pin 106 (high) is active as Mafia has had no issues off idle I believe.

Does the GTR PFC retain its low/high fuel pump speed? The GTST PFC's loose it and run constant high.

If one wished to retain the low/high on their GTST they could simply use pin 106 instead of pin 104 to send the fuel pump in to high off idle.

Hope that makes sense.

So almost tooooo easy. :)

------

Pin 106 is FPCM 2 and 107 is injector ground.

The IAT requires the usual sensor ground, is that what you were referring to?

As you probably know it really does require the datalogit as you have to fiddle with airflow curves and map references in order to utilize the load points correctly. + it makes tuning much easier as its close to being spot on before you start. :)

A BIG thanks goes out to Paul and Mafia for being BRAVE.........................................

Datalogit.. $500-$600 or there abouts from memory.

I personally wouldn't bother with a 26 loom. + it won't prove anything as unless u run 2 afm's and 2 o2 sensors you'll still have to make modifications to the loom or the pfc its self.

Thanks for the reply joel.

I have a remapped ecu at the momment but would love to get a pfc working, with or without a pfc loom adaptor. When you work out exactly what needs to be done could u make a pdf file like your rb30 one?

Also i thought u had a ap pfc already for the rb20? Why are u changing is it just for the air temp sensor? Do you need to buy this sensor from nissan?

Lastly what are the negatives of fitting the 26fc, i looked at pauls gotcha's and it seems the 02 sensor wont work or something?

mine took a while, just gotta be patient

maybe youll see them on ebay one day for $100

when some guy in china manages to copy the boards and sell them as

car computer "look like powerfc"

true operation for your skyline

only $100

work just like apexi

full management engine!!!

trent you should start looking into modifying gtr ones to suit gtsts... help us rb25 poor bastards out

yeah but i dont want to cut pauls lunch. I do a similar thing for silvia dudes... resolder jumpers and shite so that all the models work...

here you go

Here's my little adventure.

It really isn't that hard hey. Just make sure the person doing the conversion knows how to tune properly! There are some setting that MUST be set correctly for this to work. If anyone nees these settings, I have done a DAT file for the RB25DET. I'm keen to do one for the RB20 - if anyone can loan me their R32..heh

i think because their too expensive? how much do they retail trent?

Everything regarding price is relative.... I value my time very highly and i charge accordingly... a few weeks wait to me is far to long to save a few $$$ they have never not had what i want either... the other week i bought a d-jetro (rb26) for my emanage ultimate vs PFC test (results soon... quite suprising) and no-one could get one to me faster. Online merchants like nengun quoted weeks maybe months.

i needed a ap hand controller for a JZX90/Jzz30 chaser/Soarer PFC and they had one...... Price was irrelevant as no-one could get me one.... even my contacts in japan laughed at me.

If you shop on price alone you will never be happy...

    • Hows your intake piping? Are you still running stock? Having in the stock AFM position would mean, if the BOV was shut/venting out, it'd create the almost stalling kind of effect right // "the rich pulse behaviour" due to MAF thinking air is flowing ? But this would be better than having the bov in the stock position + MAF on/just before cross over piping right?
    • Essentially, yes. Although I wouldn't put the AFM on the crossover pipe. I'd want to put it into what amounts to the correct size tube, which is more easily done in the intercooler pipework. I bought a mount tube for card stile AFM that replaces the stock AFM - although being a cheap AliExpress knockoff, it had not flange and I had to make and weld my own. But it is the same length and diameter as the stock RB AFM, goes on my airbox, etc etc. I don't have a sick enough rig to warrant anything different, and the swap will take 5 minutes (when I finally get around to it and the injectors & the dyno tune).
    • So to summarise, the best thing to do is to move recirc to between turbo and IC, and maf on the crossover pipe. Meaning I'd need a recirc flange, drill a hole in the piping on turbo outlet area. And drill hole on crossover to fit/weld maf sensor? Either that or put the MAF on the turbo inlet right?  Is an aftermarket recirc/blowoff valve recommended? Do currently have family in Japan so could probably bring something back with maybe a cheeky lil SuperAutobacs run?
    • Yep, so far most have said that it looks like corrosion on the wall from piston not moving. Which then has probably damaged the oil rings and caused those vertical marks. The longest the engine was still after the rebuild, was the winter of 2018 - 2019, plus the boat trip to Japan. When I shipped the car, it had normal gas in the tank but before that winter pause, it had E85 in tank.  In any case, even if either one of those was the cause, it happened close to 6 years ago and the car has been driven something like 30 000kms after the fact. Again, apart from the plugs and the dip stick, there is nothing in the way the car runs that would indicate what has been going on in the engine. I am going to consult a shop and ask their opinion, what would be the best approach. I do have some access to a garage I could use to diagnose further myself, but time is very restrictive. Might end up buying another engine that could be used while this one is being remedied. Without pulling the head, it will be impossible to find out if it needs another bore, but here's to hoping a hone would suffice.  Goddamnit, I would really have preferred this not happening.
    • Boot is going to be replaced eventually. I just wire brushed what I could and rust converted. Then painted in rust kill primer. the spoiler also got repainted and plugs replaced on the ends. The under side of the bonnet is going to be black also, currently white. But red on the top side, same colour code as the silo to begin.
