hey guys since most of ya prolly know more a heap more than i do about these beautiful cars i was wondering if you could help me out a lil.....

Whats the difference betweeen the r32 and r33... no not the obvious things like r33s are bigger and more rounded, or r 32s go faster.....

Here are a few things i was wondering

1. If u put in a gts25t in both the r32 and r33 how much more say KW would you get outta the r32 ... i.e how many kw does the r33 churn out and the r32 with a similar engine

2. i know i've seen heaps of mad lookin r33 but you don't see many really stunning r32s anyone found any picks which can match or better the r33s or someone just show me a really nice looking r32

3. and one other thing... the insides of an r32 compared to an r33 is there much of a difference?

i know in the end your likely to put in newer systems and tuners etc... but just at the base models

4 any other things i've might like to know

See... right now my uncle and i are about to build and engine.... and my problem is which car do i want it for the r32 or the r33... if you goin for looks PERSONALLY i like the r33 but i need to know if the difference in speed between the two are that much of a difference to compromise for the looks

Thanks heaps guys

~Chris

If you are gonna drive the car hard around corners and stuff then get a 32...they are lighter and are easier to mod to get to go around corners quite quickly...

If you want more of a straight line car, with a bit more luxury then go the 33....easier to get a bit more power (I think), but heavier etc...

33 probably has more bolt on engine bits available readily...32 you have to look around a bit harder sometimes.

No room in the back of a 32...33 has more...

Basically if youre a man get a 32 if youre a boy get a 33...

:D

lol why i chose my 32...

at the time i was getting an R33... why? cause the one i was getting looked hot (ie. not the ugly stock R33) and had a few nice mods inc suspension... however for 17k compared to 12k for the 32... the 32 had it... plus i was always a HUGE fan of the godzirra. There is only one godzilla and thats the 32.... not the 33 and not the 34.

when i drove my mates 33 i was quite impressed... i hadnt seen any 32s around before so i went on a search to compare them... and that was the end of that... i went down to a dealer which had 4 of them and was instantly brought back into reality... it wasnt rounded like a commonwhores and R33... it looked meaner with the sharper curves and the lines running down the body ran str8... not like the awkward looking 33 if u look at it properly when its stock.

of course the ones i was looking at had aftermarket front bars which helped... but then again the one i have which, my sources have told me, its a nismo bar and looks much nicer (minus the cracked plastic :D).

im extremely happy with my decision and wouldnt downgrade it for any R33. Str8line speed isnt everything and with the few minor mods ive done i can easily put away most cars on the rd and corner very nicely.

in the end chris it comes down to what u want... im sure when the 33 owners jump on they will (with the exception of chop chop :D) will start getting all agro with what we have said... but dont give in to the opinions of others (even my own).

32 all the way :)

i think if your going to try and put a gts25t into an r32 i would like to come and watch, however if you want to put an rb25det into the r32 thats another story, i agree buy the one you like the look of

chris comes down to what u want...i was gonna get the 33 but then i relised every where i looked there was someone driven an r33 didnt really see much 32's around..i liked the sleek look of the 32 much smaller and sharp edged..32's dont have much room if any in the back its more of a 2 seater car where as 33 is much more roomy.....i agree with what russ said if your a man get a 32 if you a boy and wanna b like everyone else go the 33...but in the end it cumz down to what u want!

I was looking at getting an R32GTS4... but I couldn't fit into it! I'm 6'2" and it's hard to get into a R32.

I then looked at R33GTS4's, which aren't turbo'd... FORGET IT!

hence I ended up with an R33GTS25t... i nice car to drie, but the R32's are smaller and muich more nimble around corners... in the R33, you can feel that it's a heavier car when you drive it!

hope this helps

im 6 foot 2 and i fit perfectly in my 32... with a helmet its a slightly different story. U just adjust the steeringhweel as high as it can go.

u will find if it has a sunroof and ur over 6 foot u will have some problems :D

inark/phorj,

i'm 6"3 and fit into an r32 so its no trouble for the vertically-gifted...!

like i said there should be no issues fitting into a 32 unless ur unusually large :D not that its unusual to be above 6ft 2 or anything... meh u know what i mean.

btw jet... considering there is half a litre diff in the engine, stock for stock they arent hugely seperated in terms of speed.

r32 gtst stock - 160kw 6.8 0-100

r33 gtst stock - 184kw 6.3 0-100

hardly worth crying home to mumma about. and unfortunately like the rest of the masses for u it comes down to power, i would take balance over power any day. Str8lines end and tend to turn into corners.

as for unless u have a small budget.... even if i had 50k to spend i wouldnt waste it on an R33... my mate got offered a 96 model series 2 which his mate didnt want anymore and was going to sell it to him for 12k... he couldnt afford it and offered it to me and i turned it down. the simple truth is, i dont like them and never will. I dont mean i hate them.. just as far as skylines go its 32 or 34 there is nothing in between.

As stated previously... everyone has different tastes so try them out urself and see what one u like the flavour of the most :)

(btw before anyone gets there hopes up the guy didnt end up selling it cause he wants to wait another year til he gets his R34)

go wiht the one that you like the looks of the r32 weighs aroudn 100 kgs less than the r33 and the r32 is rarer than the r33. r32 interior is much smaller than the r33 its up to you drive both there is a difference

Dunno megs, seen many many more these days, even just over the last 6 months. With the prices so low they're become the entry level import on the level of the S13. As the prices come down there will be more and more too on the roads driven as p-platesr "first car" (*shudder*)

Personally, i think R33 rock..there are a few around true, but if you make your one distinctive they are better for many reasons than the 32. Depends whether you care or not, but your average commonwhore driver (or person who likes their cars) wouldn't look twice at a 32 because it just has that older look, but plenty of them look over a 33.. even if they do have the latest SS commonwhore. A nice R33 has presence and the more modern curves that still holds up fairly well. I still look at my car sometimes and think it looks a lot at least 5 years more modern than its 93 heritage.

R33 responds well to mods.. For under $5k of mods you can probably get a low 13sec road car without changing the turbo.. Bit harder in 32 because of the smaller block, and smaller turbo.

Me i'd say R33 GTS-T or R32GTR.. I'd only go the R32 GTS-T unless u wanted to save money.. as they are an old car these days.
