Used Oil, Old Batteries Etc.. How To Dispose Of?

what does everyone do with their leftover oil and such? i've got about 4 bottles sitting in the garage that i need to get rid of but its not like i can pour it down the drain or shove it in the rubbish bin.

When i lived with my folks we used to do trips out to the rubbish tip and dump them there... but my cars not quite so rubbish tip friendly

Ok in general you can dispose of waste oil at any supercheap up here in qld, im guessing would be the same as for down south, for use batteries you may have to chase down a battery world or a battery re-core place to dispose of it that way, unless you can always just put them in the bin! Highly illegal i dont condone people to do it that way but its upto you

if you live at west end, i believe the best way to get rid of this stuff

is to just put it all out in the street in front of your house

(I do not condone the use of engine oil to write nasty things in other peoples lawn... Anyway Battery Acid would work even better )

haha the old lady in our complex complained about the tiny drop of oil i put on the pavers a while ago... would be funny if she found the contents of five full 5L bottles of used sump oil on her maticulously manicured garden, especially since i'm moving soon

but nah going to ring supercheap tomorrow see if they will take it, if not i'll just take it out to the browns plains recycle thingo.

Just one quick one with the browns plains dump. Its 20L maximum per day of oil they will take for nothing. Anything over that they charge you a per litre rate. But to get to the bit where you dump that off I think is only 2 speed bumps now, and its all asphalt. You'll be right.
