I know this question has been asked a million times but how much power (HP OR KW) can the RB25DET take before you need to change internals. I got an R33 Series 2 and thinking of upgrading turbo, any recommendation on a turbo which produces abit more power than factory but i don't want to change internal.

What is the best turbo to use to prevent internals to be changed?

How much can a rb25det take?

cheers

John

DO A SEARCH, this has been covered so many times its not funny!!

300rwkw is a nice safe limit for stock internals provided it has been tuned by someone that knows what they are doing, also the conditon of the motor and the quality/type of parts that are being used will determine how much power if will make reliably.

270rwkw is a safer limit if you want it to last. although depending on the engine condition you could probably push 300rwkw but at this level the stock internal engine will let go eventually.

my mates 33gtst was running 19psi with a high flow garret he drove it every day for like 2 years(who knows how long with previous owner) then a piston finaly cracked so i'd say if not running more than 16 psi should handle pretty well.
