Yes it is my R33 GTR with 143.4 or 144 kw @ the wheels. I was very disappointed when I went home and checked againts my other sheets. Then a brain wave hit me AVO was done in 3rd gear..... 175kw 2 months ago......

I was on the dyno straight after you and I thought 'whoo hoo I should make more than the GTR, this will make my kw figure look more impressive' jokingly after we knew your GTR was obviouly not making what it should.

Then I had problems too and only made 137.4kw :D I was disappointed too. But hey there is always next time after all the problems are fixed. :)

What key ring?? :D

Being in the wrong gear under "shootout mode" guidelines and correct dyno operation isn't mean to affect power output but every time I've seen a car dynoed in another gear the values are whacko, so dyno'ing in 3rd does skew the results unfortunately, which could explain why it was higher on AVO's dyno (makes sense now).

The standard limp mode could be triggered by a few things, one of the main sensors fried should do it.

Consult should tell you what sensor is toast. Look for the obvious ones, both AFM signals, water temp signal.

Well i found out today that RANK ROTARY dyno is Actually Out i showed Pete @ rank

the RE dyno sheet and he said:

"well that confirms it i had so many cars reading lower than what they should My dyno is out of wack by a bit"

So IM REAL HAPPY :) 238.8 rwkw and my engine needs a rebuild Thats Crazy power for the rb20. Once i rebuild should have way more MAYBE RB25 on the way!!!!!!

Anyway i never got a key ring are they only for brand new members?

i should got one off ya at the GOR cruise....

Hey big thanks to CHrisman for introducing me to some great people and RCHOO and other members thanks for havin a chat to me as a new member i can really appreciate you guys helping out with recommendations etc...

A great turn out to a fantastic day! Was a very successful event I feel! Good work to the organizers and Ray and the guys at RE for doing such a good job.

Was super disappointed with my cars output but then again I knew the car wasn't right and hasn't felt it for a while, that's why I popped it on. Issues with AFR, Knock and Boost. Gotta stop putting off fix's so on that note, dropping the car a RPM tomorrow for some TLC. See you all at the next dyno day :D

I received them just before the Dyno Day. Your on a list to receive one as you have already renewed this year. Be patient, you will get one :D

yeah and a boost controller that works maybe

I also had a good day....

My car went on near the end of the day when most people had left, was happy with my 140kW or so. Last dyno day I had 128kW, so the batmbl split dump and metal cat has added a bit.

I also was trying Boost 98 octane 10% ethanol fuel for my run. I know this has been debated before but i guess now we have evidence that YOU CANNOT RUN BOOST 98 FUEL in a lightly modded car if it is not SPECIFICALLY TUNED for the fuel. My AFRs where between 1 and 2 points too lean throughout the rev range. I'll post the dyno graphs up later.

But I do recommend that next time we keep a list of who is next on the dyno etc... I didn't mind staying around all day (til 5pm or so since 11.30am) to have my turn but I know that some people were getting a bit sick of waiting.

Cheers,

Rhett

Yeah Rhett i thought to myself on the day when you told be bout the 10% ethanol thing

that there's no way id run that in my car

i had a magna that almost died on that stuff

my afr were high too i showed my tuner and he said they were high but he said when he

tuned my car he made sure the were spot on so maybe that dyno afr's are out??? :whistling::P

he said he trusted his one cause he used a motec Top Of The Range Equipment???

    • I've been pondering this, I really enjoy the convertible thing, for me, it's like riding a motorbike, without all the issue of riding a motorbike, mainly, my old sore arthritic joints getting beaten up, and, being able to do it in shorts and a T-shirt and not needing a helmet and all the other gear required, especially like wearing jackets and pants in the summer, or needing 6 layers of cloths in the winter, or not having wet weather gear handy when your 100km away from home on the bike when it decides to start raining As for the hard top and its Coupe look, whilst I do lose all that open top feeling that I really enjoy, from my experience with the NB with a detachable hard top, the cabin is a much nicer place to be, the difference in noise for one, a hard top quietens down the interior, alot, with the soft top up or down it's pretty noisy, which, after 5 or so hours, can get tiring But, as you stated, the detachable hard top totally changes the look of the car, in a really good way, and for me, the look of a detachable hard top is so much better than the PRHT which looks more like a after thought with its weird bulbous rear roof line For me, the minimal effort of putting in on, or storing it after removing it, is well worth the time and effort for the look alone And yes, I'm sure the next owner will be grateful for it as well.......
    • I get into huffs with people when I suggest the MX5 looks so much better as a coupe than it does as convertible. Pretty sure I don't prefer the convertible version of anything. Good job on the hardtop! The next buyer will appreciate.
    • IMO wrap does have its uses, but like you said, quality wrap, and professional installation, would probably cost want a quality paint job does, but, the paint, if maintained, is basically for life, and much easier to touch up if required  In other news: it's pissing down here, with thunder, lightning and only some small hail "at this stage", luckily all "my" cars are undercover  I've also been contacted by a guy in Newcastle about the SS, he said he will come down next weekend for a look, we'll see how that transpires I guess 🫰
    • Nah, I'm not an a-hole, ha ha!   I do like the colour match. Some of the carbon fibre wraps are quite freaking horrible. There's one a local company I know uses, and it looks damn good! Also very very expensive per metre to buy! ha ha ha It might be cheaper to respray the roof than use the good CF Wrap, ha ha!
    • Please noooooooo 😭 As for wrap, no thank you mate, I've seen and used "carbon fibre" wrap before, and for these hard tops, they look soooo good when colour matched Like this >>>
