I'm about to wrap my hks cast low mount manfold. I've got some s/s cable ties and two rolls of exhaust wrap.

What I want to know is,

1. Do you use a cable tie at the start or

2. If I wrap it back over the start will that hold OK?

Its a Tomei kit, has these s/s cable ties, but yeah, I did think hose clamps would be more permanent.

How did you start yours?

yeah I used s/s ties. You can start it but just wrappiong it hard form the top. Not to much of a big deal. Holds up well.

When i wrapped a manifold on my other car i was told to spray the wrap with high temp clear.

I just used regular cables ties and it held up perfectly

only if its hasnt been treated. Some have and some havn't. If it hasnt fibreglass goes everywhere..its very fine.

I don't know if I'd be too game to wrap a cast iron manifold, are you planning to race it (track)? There is a slight possibillity that if the wrap isn't even enough you will end up with uneven heat causing warping or cracking. Just be very carefull, or buy a rabbits foot. :D
